Forums - Nintendo - Talking about anti Wii bias...

I haven't played that specific game, but I can guess that this guy must have really shaky hands if he wastes "seconds" trying to line up after reloading,... after a few minutes of RE4 my aiming is almost instantaneous... I'm sure slightly different set-ups between different FPS might mean a little adjusting for the first few minutes of play, but after that I bet I could point off-screen then point back to where I want in half a second, which is much quicker than moving a stick.

wii controls are leagues better than dual analog and significantly better than mouse keyboard,

I have tried the Wii's controller (my nephew owns a Wii) and I still think that the mouse and keyboard are superior, especially for FPS games.  It does excel though at not being intimidating to new gamers.

I stopped reading when he said that COD4 is the best FPS game he's ever played. Obviously he missed out on HL2, CS, COD1 expansion etc. all of which are much better games the COD4.

Prepare for termination! It is the only logical thing to do, for I am only loyal to Megatron.

The difference betweent he wasd/mouse , and the wii mote is the wiimote has another axis of motion over the wasd. Yes the wasd is more accurate for fps' , but this allows the wiimote to become more immersive with it's features like throwing a grenade or controlling a missile launcher. I think the wasd, and wiimote both offer a different fps experience. One isn't superior to the other.

You should try metroid prime 3 Legend, I am a real fan of Counter Strike, and to say the truth, mouse and keyboard are not better than wiimote + nunchuck.

I would disagree with the whole Wiimote > thing unless the Wiimote was tweaked a little and could be pointed at the screen and not the stupid sensor bar. It really annoys me, I keep losing the pointer.

Um when I point at my screen it it follows the way I point. I don't know what is wrong with your tv or sensor bar , but that is how it works on mine.

that was so stupid not even worth the time i spend reading it

true but you have to realize he was having a shitty week AND he had to review a bunch of games in a row.

but yea, he was stupid when he said that the controls sucked.

Why should anyone take those things into account at all?

If he wants his reviews to be taken seriously he needs to have at least a shred of professionalism and when your reason for disliking a game is because you're "jonesing" to play another game it only tells the reader that no matter how good the game was you were going to hate it because you really wanted to be somewhere else.  The game was essentially never given a fair chance by his own admission.

He destroys his credability further by continually bashing on the console in general which again makes the reader wonder..."Why are you reviewing this game at all then...why do you even own a Wii still if you dislike it so much?".

I don't care how bad his week was, if his girlfriend left him and took his dog, or even if she did so while he had food poisoning.  The fact is that none of that should factor into his review, and he should be ashamed to say it does...but instead he flaunts it and uses it as an intro for the review.

If you want to defend that then go ahead, but it only makes you look bad as well.  This is the type of article you need an 11ft pole for...because the 10ft pole just isn't long enough.

I covered your opinion in my statement, you have an existing bias in favor of mouse+keyboard and are stuck in your old ways, once you let that go you will see that wiimote + nunchuck is superior though you will fight not to

also I was only referring to fps controls, or anything were pointing is involved (would love to see a competent rts game on the wii), but  wiimote+nunchuck is terrible for say a fighting game, and swinging the remote in place of buttons doesn't add anything but logical gestures are fantastic (NMH using tilt to control stance and the wrestling moves or Zack and wiki is great, but zelda's shake the controller to attack doesn't really make the game more fun)
