It would be nice to have access to all games through one console, so yeah, Sony and Microsoft should go third party.

It'd be rad. No more shitty gimmicky consoles and everyone gets to play their games. Everyone wins except Nintendo, but it's not like they're used to winning anyway.

Why not make more successful mobile games and try to drive people to their various consoles?

As I said before. Yes, eventually they all will because PC and mobile will eat the console market alive. But I don't expect them to release games for PlayStation or Xbox.

It is a miracle that Nintendo still is a competitor in game hardware, but they are.
A lot of other rich companies would love to be platform owners too but has so far failed: Apple, Google, Amazon, Valve, Facebook and probably Tencent or some other Chinese company.
