I've gotten pretty tired of hearing about it both ways, to be honest.

If you don't like it, don't watch it. Simple as that. If you like it, good for you. Unless you work for Sony, your attachment should probably end with that.

Personally, I have no interest in watching it. Why? Because the trailers looked mediocre and I don't watch mediocre movies. I only watch a few movies a year and only if they seem to be special or interesting. I usually avoid "summer blockbusters" unless I get roped into it by someone else.

As for reviews, the first review I read was a social rant disguised as a review, so I have no intention of trusting aggregate scores from anywhere. User reviews, I never trust those to begin with.

Seriously, I liked the first Ghostbusters a lot when I first saw it but I was also a kid. I liked the sequels a lot less--I can't even remember them, actually. As an adult, I have no interest in the franchise and I'm kind of stunned that adults on both sides are fighting about it.

"But...but i need to force my opinions on everyone, regardless if they asked for it or not!"

Just got back from seeing this. As someone who watched the cartoons when I was younger and have seen the first two Ghostbusters films but have no real emotional attachment to them, this was fine. Not mindblowing or laugh-a-minute, but enjoyable.

This tirade against it is one of the most interesting things I've seen in quite some time.

Yeah, the people who have actually *seen* the damn movie realize it's OK.

If this is 2/10, then sure as fuck 90% of the movies released the summer should be 1/10 or 0.5/10. There's no fucking way you can spin this as worse than Indepedence Day or as dull as Tarzan or worse than WarCraft or shitty as Alice Through the Looking Glass.

The cast of the film is one of the strong points actually, the script is not that well done, that's where the main issues arise from. The new characters are all likable enough and work well together and it isn't a "girl power!" movie it's a "these three scientists are fascinated by the paranormal and another one joins the team" movie. It's quite respectful of the Ghostbusters mythos even though it is a reboot too, fans of the movies/TV shows will pick up on tons of nods to the original movie and even one big one from the cartoon series.

The Cinema Score for the movie, which is people who have SEEN the movie and haven't gotten into the stupid pissing match of politics rated it A- for Under 25 year olds and B+ as a whole. There's no way this is a 2/10 movie across the board.

It's a better and truer Ghostbusters film than any of the Star Wars prequels were to Star Wars. It's Ghostbusters II quality, if you could live with that, you should probably find enough to enjoy here. Like I said before the 3D is spectacular too, best use of 3D I've ever seen, the ghosts come right out of the screen.

If the movie is actually good, I'll have to admit I was wrong. I thought it would be horrible.

To be fair, the trailers were horrible. I could care less if they made it all women. I'm probably gonna watch this soon, just to see if the movie is as bad as people truly make it.

Then again, I enjoyed TMNT 2(well, the parts without megan fox. Worst actor I've ever seen). Guess it doesn't take much to please me.

I wouldn't say it's a "great" film, but if you were able to enjoy TMNT2, this is probably similar or better than that.

Watch it in 3D though, the 3D is really good.

And Megan Fox is the only reason I'd see TMNT2, lol.

Which reminds me, Ghostbusters 2016 > any Michael Bay Transformers.

I couldn't in hindsight even tell you the plot of any those Transformers movies because they all an incoherent trainwreck, Ghostbusters is easy enough to follow even if it doesn't take any huge risks.

I aplaud you.

the great mistery is where is the balance between people who gave 1 just because of hate and how many gave 10 for SJW reason... we know both have a very big number of people under, but who have more?

With this movie? The haters. Definitely the haters. Actually, I think SJW's are a small minority in the general public.

Well you may be right. SJWs are a minority, but pure haters or loyal fans of the movie that would go there only to tarnish the sequel shouldn't be a lot as well. It probably deserve something between 5 to 7.

Is it possible for the characters to be good but the script to be awfull? Would it not the characters suck if the script was awfull? That seems like defending the cast instead of the actual characters.

I cant say this movie is bad, but from what I hear, from at least trusted reviews, they have no problems with the female cast, yea some are dispointed, but the problems of this film stand out on its own and have nothing to do with an all female cast. Sony has made sure that any criticicism is addreesed back as "because your a sexist" To avoid talking about the real issues of the film.

Just from seeing the trailers, I can agree with the bad reviews. But I will judge for myself once is free.

It takes genuine talent to see greatness in yourself despite your absence of genuine talent.

Never understood why transformers 4 has over 1 billion for the box office.

At least TMNT follows the comics, has an understandable plot, and has a good amount of action scenes.

Transformers is horrid. It's nothing like the original comics or show, the plot is pure garbage, and the action scenes only last 5 minutes(the ones for three and four were bad as well).

I just don't want any biases to infect me while watching the new ghostbusters. Seeing all the hate, I realized it was exaggerated. I just want to watch it and see what it's like.

The cast is quite decent actually. I would have zero problems seeing a sequel with the same cast, they all did well even Leslie Jones who I was afraid would be very poorly written does a decent job. They're all likable enough and they all have good chemistry with each other. Melissa McCarthy is probably the weakest of the characters.

The script is the weaker point, but even that is not that bad. It's your basic summer popcorn movie. The third act kinda fizzles a bit, the first half of the movie is stronger. The villian needed to be written up a bit more but the basic idea behind him I actually didn't have a big quarrell with.

This was much better than Pixels which is basically a "modern" ghostbusters movie (just with game characters instead of ghosts and Adam Sandler).

I love the original, the trailer for this looked terrible, I'm not seeing it.

Not getting worked up about it, wasn't made for me like many other movies and recent reboots (ex: Robocop)

1. It's a bad thing.

2. That's regressive. Congratulations.

3. Aside from being a gimmick, which I've already pointed out, no.

4. You're splitting hairs in a bait-y way.

5. Nnnnnnnnope. Try harder.

Yes, you do need to try again. The fact that you don't even see how means you need to either stop and think of just stop.

Yeeah, you beat me with your powers to inflict boredom on your victims. Some people who are wrong are either funny or offering an interesting perspective that is worth exploring... you're wrong in the most boring way possible. Not understanding key differences between important concepts, just going "nu-uh" without explanation, smug condescending behavior that rivals my own... I'll just go. You're going to get along with people well in your life
