Forums - Gaming - Mass Effect 2 has no replay value

I played it a few years ago on PS3 because PC version had no controller support. Now it has controller support mod but the game feels so bland, boring corridor shooter, apart from story there is nothing worthwhile in it and I have no incentive to keep playing cos I know everything that's going to happen next. On positive side it obviously looks and works much better on PC and has almost no loading times. Those 2min loading screens in PS3 were ridiculous.

Deus Ex (2000) - a game that pushes the boundaries of what the video game medium is capable of to a degree unmatched to this very day.

ME never had replay value, but guess that depends what that means to you. I have played all three multiple times, simply because i enjoyed them. Can i call that a criteria of replay value?

The replay value in ME comes from seeing the different outcomes of your choices. It's the key reason I finished the first two games so many times.

I played the main game 4 times through, I start again recently but got distracted. First playthrough was an 'on the fly' situation, not all good or all bad. Second all paragon, 3rd, all renegade and then 4th playthough was the best one, the most useless. I did all I could to come back as the only survivor after the suicide mission, sadly came back with 2 team members.

Yet, don't more RPGs have the same effect, once you played it, you know the story so why bother right? Not like you have a choice of companions to play with or different abilities to use or ... wait you do have all that.

Hmm, pie.

I have replayed each game at least 4 times (twice paragon and twice renegade). To me the story was worthwhile enough and the gameplay held up - especially in two and three, not so much in one. I'd say that's replay value.

I think I've played the first 2 games twice each

Different classes and decisions provided good enough replay value for me, I enjoyed gameplay . Its weird to think Andromeda is so close yet so far. I'll happily go on a media black out an

The series as a whole has very little replay value, but the same goes for Dragon Age, most Final Fantasy titles and a heap of other RPG's as well. It's not really a problem for me.
