Forums - Gaming - Games unfairly ignored or judged

Sonic Unleashed is not a good game, but it doesn't deserve to be ranked amongst the likes of Sonic '06, Sonic and the Black Knight, or Sonic and the Secret Rings. It has exhilarating and snappy daytime stages, beautiful visuals, and a soundtrack that doesn't get a quarter of the praise that it deserves. So I'd say that it's an okay game. Like in the range of 5-6/10.

I'm sure most people stated their biggest issue was night time.

I don't hate it. It's pretty neat, but I felt like the morning stages were far better

12/22/2016- Made a bet with Ganoncrotch that the first 6 months of 2017 will be worse than 2016. A poll will be made to determine the winner. Loser has to take a picture of them imitating their profile picture.

That's what I mean. Shitty nighttime stages don't warrant treating it as bad as '06.

I really liked this game, but I never hear people talking about it. Oh well, at least it's getting a sequel anyways, I hope it's even better than the first game!

Yeah, as I said, Croteam was satisfied with the sales. But I'm guessing that has to do with them not needing many sales to break even as opposed to the game actually being stellar in sales.

Fire Emblem for a really long time. Sure it's gotten its deserved recognition for now, but it deserves waay more sales for the production value put in.

I also think Pikmin is criminally underrated. Deserves more sales.

Picross 3D ranks among my favorite puzzle games ever, yet barely half a million sales.

- Mother-effing Suikoden V sold bad and had so-so reviews yet is an awesome game.
- Ogre Battle 64. Awesome, fantastic game. It got great reviews. I'd put that game in my top 3 n64 games. Yet not so popular with the audience.
- Shovel Knight. Yeah yeah, its awesome and well reviews and sold well yet it's so great I feel it should've done better in every aspect.

Last I think Skyward Sword gets too much shit, once you get used to the controls it worked mostly fine and the game while not one of the best on the saga was pretty good.

Massively agreed. The controls may have a bit of a learning curve, but the satisfaction of outmanoeuvring an enemy's blade and cutting them down with a deft swing of my own arm was well worth it. Plus it has some of the best dungeons of all time. It's not perfect, but I'd actually call Skyward Sword the second best Zelda behind Ocarina and one of the best video games of the 7th generation.

The neptunia games. The main ones have honestly gotten better over the years. Victory was a big turning point

I feel the same for many indie games. Only indie games I found to be way too overhyped were FNAF and undertale.

Shovel knight, Castle crashers, cave story, meat boy, binding of Isaac, etc etc are all great titles which deserve more praise

- Super Paper Mario. It's the only Paper Mario game I've played, and while I know it's not what people wanted, I loved every minute of it. It had great music, interesting level design and the story was great as well.

- Wii Music. I used to play this a lot when I got my Wii, and I didn't know it was hated by tons of people up until recently. Even though it's a pretty basic game, I still think it's good.

- Psychonauts. I feel like this game often gets ignored because of the artstyle. It was the reason I didn't get to play it for a long time, but when I finally gave it a chance, I had a lot of fun.

- Robot Roller Derby Disco Dodgeball. This is one of those games that no one ever heard of, and it's a damn shame. It's a very different spin on the FPS genre, and it works surprisingly well. It's on the latest Humble Bundle btw, so now is a great time for you guys to check it out!

The Order 1886

They took every opportunity to say how cinematic it would be, how it wouldn't have MP, and how it was focused on third person shooting. The game comes out and there was nothing surprising for me. I bought the CE and enjoyed the romp and the great voice acting and world building and fun shooting which was surprisingly engaging after reviews. It was also so gorgeous I literally didn't know I was allowed to play as I thought it was a cutscene still lol

But it comes out and people act surprised at the black bars (something they specifically talked about before release), lack of MP (went over that heavily before release), and how the length made the purchase worse (if it's good I'll replay while I get bored with repetitive open worlds like Just Cause after less time so not objectively bad). I'd give it a 7/10
