Oh...forgot about those two. Yeah, we can agree on that much XD

Yes, it was a bad assumption, and all imposing words are bad. If I don't like something, that's how I feel about it. You don't have to feel the same way about Gen 1 like I do. I'd rather use magnets because guess what, there are superheroes based on magnetism. There are no superheroes or anything supernatural about a pair of keys. Everyone has their own opinion, Gen 1 may be the best pokemon game...to somebody but that's as far as it'll go. It's as far as it'll go for someone to deem Gen 2 or 3 or 4, or 5, or 6 the best ones because there's no factual evidenec behind something like this. I don't like Keys as monsters...I don't like Ice Cream as a monster. You may not like Magnets or Sludge, and that's fine. My issue is more of a design perspective than anything else. The new pokemon to me are ugly. IMO, magnemite looks better than Klefki in terms of design. But whatever floats your boat. I'll respect YOUR opinion, as long as you respect mine because if nothing can be proven as fact, it remains an opinion. |
Obviously you can have your opinion, I never said otherwise, only that your reasoning behind it is hypocritical. If you can live with that, fine, however you cannot hide behind the opinion shield when it comes to the quality of the Pokemon games. There most certainly are factual objective ways to determine which games are better or worse. That's actually laughably easy with Pokemon since the core concept and gameplay always remain unchanged. Thus Pokemon G/S/C are basically R/B/Y except with more Pokemon, more moves, additional features, better balance, new mechanics, enhanced visuals and so ons, and the same can be said moreso with the newer games. Basically the best Pokemon game is always the latest one.

Don't talk
Every generation has shit designs. Only the bear sucks. The ghost pokemon shown(and the other gen 7 pokemon) look fine.
Gen 1 had gas, ooze, a Pokéball, an upside down pokeball, and a turtle with cannons.

??? Please...find the article or encyclopedia that says that the latest one is always the best? It's just so...biased. The characters, graphics, story, at least changes in every game. That's enough to make someone like a game over another. I think Gen 3 is the best...in my opinion. And even those are pieces of something greater in determining the "best" in the series.
"Opinion Shield"....
You can't bring your thoughts across others as fact. Nor can I.
And what am I being hypocritical about again? That word shouldn't even be in this conversation as it's based entirely on opinions. By your same logic, Call of Duty MW3 should be the best in the series. But I know people who swear by the Bible that MW2 is better than 3.
The factual objective ways to determine which games are better or worse...is a sentence that blows itself up with one word..."objective" which basically throws this dispute down the garbage can, EXCEPT for on a technical level. "Factual Objective Ways", in this case, is just another word for the obvious. Yes, 64 Bit is better than 16 bit but only at a technical level.
The entire dispute about which Pokemon/games are better is mainly subjective and opinionated. Which pokemon are better, the story, the music, not just grahics, sound, map theme, all play into something much greater.

Again? I can't have my opinions!? I DON'T LIKE SOME OF THE NEW POKEMON DESIGNS! You may like some of them but I do not. What's not to get abou tit? Did I say every generation didn't have bad designs? I even just admitted that Jynx and Mr. Mime are terrible as for some reason I thought they were Gen 2 pokemon. It's really not that deep.
"Gen 1 had gas, ooze, a Pokéball, an upside down pokeball, and a turtle with cannons." And guess what, they looked like monsters dagnabbit! When I look at an Ice Cream Cone I don't think "monster". I think Ice Cream. When I look at a trash bag... I don't see a monster... I see TRASH. What's so wrong about a Pokeball being in a Pokemon game? What's so wrong about Gas or Ooze that have been present in many JRPGS before Pokemon? Turtles with Canons isn't so farfetched, ever play a Sonic game?

Or just read my post fully, namely the sentence prior to the bolded. Those are indisputable one-sided facts that make the latest game the greatest game. What you me or anyone else likes is irrelevant to the games' quality, and a game can be your favorite even if it isn't the best one. I like Gen4 a lot more than Gen5, but I'd be foolish to say Gen4 is overall superior when Gen5 is basically Gen4 but more and better.
You're dunking on inanimate object Pokemon for being inanimate objects while praising the likes of Magnemite. My logic doesn't apply to those Call of Duty games because there are key gameplay and story differences, not say MW3 is or isn't superior, I haven't played either game in a long time to make a call, but whatever, I'm only going to talk Pokemon here.
No it isn't as I already explained. Newer games having more Pokemon/features/etc. isn't something that can apply to all games and isn't something anyone can disagree with or dispute, it just is. Which Pokemon are better is not a relevant factor when the lastest game has all the old Pokemon. They all have basically the same story, and sound quality is just yet another thing that was improving with each iteration.
Nintendo also put out a new trailer!
Really wonder what exactly those bracelets do.

I get the point, since usually the latest Pokémon game is the most complete one and what not... But nah. I ain't buying that. Diamond & Pearl were never the best Pokémon games, not today and not 10 years ago either. |
Well... Hmm... Huh. I had thought you liked Gen 4. Well my friend, we are no longer friends!

Holy crap
I hope you know I have nothing against you, right? :)
Also, I just find it weird how you find a piece of ooze to be a monster, but an ice cream cone isn't. 😂😂
I'm not here to debate you or anything. You can have your opinions. It's cool man. I just found it weird.

Gen 4 sucks hard and it always has. In fact it was because of gen 4 that I stopped playing Pokémon altogether (only to be brought back by the awesome gen 5 of course). But seriously, were we ever friends? |
Everyone is my friend by default until I deem them unworthy.
| Ljink96 said: For the last time...I was born in 1996. I didn't play Gen 1 until Fire Red and Leaf Green, and that was after I played Diamond and Pearl. It's not nostalgia, the designs were simple and effective and didn't look like cheap Americanized saturday morning cartoon characters like that bear. And Ice cream, keys, swords, trash, and God knows what else. Why is the only thing that upsets pokemon fans who see someone praising Gen 1, the pokemon designs?
Well, that's your opinion and I have mine. The newer pokemon, imo, are cheaply made and were made without heart. Gen 1-2 and even 3, were very organic and to me, from the heart of the original character designers. I know an American friend in college who is now working on monster designs in Japan. Their designs aren't my cup of tea. They just look very cheap and not very genuine compared to the first 3 gens. |
You love gen1, good for you but don't seat there and talk down other gens and how gen 1 is the best and let me tell you if any gen fits your " are cheaply made and were made without heart."is gen 1 since it's the laziest and less original out of all the Pokémon gens
You have talked about some of the newer and older pokes designs and you praise the old like they are gods apart MR.Mime and Jinx, from putting down an inanimate objects from the newer gens but defending one the older ones, putting down a trash pokémon but say nothing regarding a very similar pokémon from the original gen.
You have a problem with an ice cream cone beign a pokémon but what about a bunch of eggs?
And let's not forget Diglett,Doduo,Magnimate that apart from their very simple design, when they evolve they just get a friend(s),or how about the tiny bird pokémon that keep getting bigger or the rocks with arms or the bodybuilders or the KickBoxer that was divided in 2 or a ballon or a kanguroo or a palm tree or a cat and his evolution a bigger cat or a electric rat and his evolution where he gets fatter gets a different color, tail and hears.
I love gen1 but don't praise it and put down other gens for things that gen1 not only did it as well but did it more
