They are actually decent. Perhaps a failsafe?
Still morally disgusting though. The implications of such campaigns are widespread and unmeasurable

RIP Ethics... TB is gonna have a heart attack after seeing this after the CSGO nonsense.

Well I never cared for Pewdiepie, so its no big deal. None of the youtubers I care about were listed there, so they can do whatever they want.
Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).
Interesting but I'm not in the least surprised. I'd be more surprised that anyone else would be surprised. Most people doing the Youtube thing are trying to making money.
Also, this was kind of interesting:
"Influencers were advised to disclose the video's sponsored status under YouTube's "Show More" section, but some did not, and the FTC says this would not have been enough to skirt the rules anyway, as the disclaimer would not have been visible on videos watched through Twitter, Facebook, or other social media sources."
Looks like some of these "Youtube celebrities" were trying even harder to hide what they were doing than they were told.

Wondering how the gamergate people will react to this.
Fairly sad to read about this, well... I'm not shocked in the slightest, I'm more sad for the people who believe that companies do not engage in this sort of behaviour with social media and youtube.
I don't want to sound tin foil hat'y here... but damn it lads open the eyes to how money works.
Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive
That's huge. He's probably one of the most influential people in video games.
Kids that got famous for no reason took easy money in exchange for lying about something that's already decent to begin with? Yeah, I dunno. I would've done the same thing.

Its also worth noting its a genuinely good game and reception reflected that.
Perhaps he didn't have to lie. So he got lucky on this one.

I hate the term "influencer".
I'm glad something is happening, I understand and am not against Youtubers being paid to promote games. I hope that this, and the increasing action and talk about it, makes some take notice and realise they need to improve their standards and with the publisher implicated also, hopefully it means that publishers across the board will set strict rules when they make these sorts of deals. It shouldn't have had to come this mind.
Don't ruin the moment
