Forums - Nintendo - Pokémon GO is "Something Very Special" as a Staggering $7 Billion is Added to Nintendo's Company Value

Biggest thing to hit mobile besides Candy Crush and Angry birds?

It has added 10 Billion to their market cap now, and Billionaire Mark Cuban deems Pokemon Go "A Winner". And it hasn't even released in Japan, Europe, or Canada. If they want to keep this train going, they need to implement a friend system, trainer trades and battles, Gen 2's roster of Pokemon, more items, better avatar options, etc.

Mark Cuban said that?

Now I'm expecting a cross promotion between Pokémon and the Dallas Mavericks this upcoming season! XD

This is the power of pokemon

Are we sure about this info? It looks like to have a way bigger impact than everyone could have imagined.

Predictions for Nintendo NX and Mobile

I think it's obvious that Nintendo has the ability and the IP's to basically dominate the mobile market if they choose to. Personally, I'd like to see them do that while not abandoning their hardware... perhaps reintroducing some people to what amount to "samplers" on mobile might help move a few units of hardware.

Either way, it's good to see that they're doing well financially. The only concern I have is there will be ever increasing pressure by shareholders to make this their focus, especially given they've been clamoring for Nintendo to enter the mobile market for years prior to any actual successes.

Personally, I don't think they're about to top or even match this Pokemon Go success in the future, but ports of their many older games would probably still do quite well.

I'd prefer if Nintendo just stick to creating original mobile games that are tailor made for the platform while using the games as a way to reintroduce people to Nintendo games and entice them to buy their hardware, as you said.

Definitely the biggest mobile game since Angry Birds/Candy Crush. Nintendo did really well here with being innovative with the mobile camera and GPS.

You mean they did really well asking a 3rd party to reskin their game "Ingress" with Pokemon. :)

Just shows how important IP is, game few people heard about is now making billions cos they put pokemon in it.

Ahhh did not know this... Without the Pokemon name on the app it would not be the mega-hit that it is...

I wont lie, Pokemon Red was the last Pokemon game I've played, until Pokemon Go.

Mayhaps they're getting fans like myself back into the franchise.

I finally convinced my father to invest on Nintendo's stock so we should be able to capitalize on the growth given by the release in Europe and other countries...

Did you buy the stock today? If so, you made a mistake. Stocks almost always drop severaly % when they see huge spikes like this. It'll probably be down 5+% tomorrow.

welp, seems you were wrong, I wish my father bought the stock yesterday afternoon, now it's up 11%

Little update, this need to be include in OP
