Forums - Sony - Sony Europe Boss Teases New Crash Bandicoot Game For PS4 Coming In Future

During an interview, PlayStation Europe boss was asked about chances to see more Crash Bandicoot games release in the next few years, and he was a bit mysterious although letting us all understand there are plans about that:

"You know, we've got to keep you guys hoping for stuff that's coming in the future. Tease you a little bit as well."

This is really something we should discuss with Activision, since it still holds rights to publish the IP, and the remaster is indeed coming from Vicarious Visions (which is an internal studio from the American publisher).

Anyway, considering Crash Bandicoot has been for a long time a PlayStation mascotte, we're pretty sure Sony has all the interest in seeing the game launching exclusively on its platforms. We'll see what's next, by the way; what would you like to play sooner or later in the Crash series? Let us know in the comments below.

So a completely new crash? Hard to tell because the article is poorly formatted. Is the third paragraph a quote? Or is the whole article based on the 2 sentences quoted in commas?

Who are the interviewing? It just says PlayStation Europe Boss. Is that Andrew House? I can't remember.

Not a very good article.

I think if a Crash game was in the works, or at least given the go-ahead, it would've been announced alongside the remaster. It's probably on the table, but Activision are letting Sony test the water with the remaster first and then decide whether to go ahead with it after if enough people support it. This "tease" is more for the possibility of more in the future.

Don't ruin the moment

Currently Playing: Rocket League (PC/PS4), Dead Cells (PC)

I'm more excited for the remake then I would be a new game. Following the original 3 as a template they can't screw it up. If they made a new crash game from scratch I'd be worried about them "modernising" it, adding awful mechanics or making the levels open world.

I'm much more excited about having a Ratchet and Clank Esque remake of the original trilogy.

I totally agree. They could easily screw up making a new Crash from scratch.

I don't know. Look how the Final Fantasy remake got announced. They announced a remaster and then the remake the following year.

FFVII wasn't a remaster, it was a port of the PC version to PS4, also the crash "remaster" is equievelent to a remake as it's being made from the ground up, with no original assets or code.

I've translated the PR language for you. You're all welcome.

"If people buy the remakes and prove it's not just a loud vocal minority than we shall certainly make a new Crash game for you."
