Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Nintendo opens a worldwide portal for developers

In an attempt to continue their efforts to push small (and big) developers to support their eShop's offer, Nintendo has merged all of its developer programs into a single worldwide portal.

Developers are now welcomed to register and create a Nintendo Developer Account to start developing their next title in collaboration with Nintendo. Nintendo also offers help to those who have little game development experience and encourage the creators to self-publish their game on the eShop, price and release date up to the developer.

Nintendo also provides access to development tools and documents (Unity and its integrated services, Nintendo web framework and Dev Interface) to make creators' ideas a reality.

Damn. Not sure if this is a dig or a compliment at Nintendo

Love it! Especially the stuff about helping the little guys :)

Cool. Nintendo needs all the developer support they can get, so this is a step in the right direction.

bet: lost

Nintendo is finally learning to be more open to developers. Hopefully this will help with the NX.

Great article though. Nice to read it. Having some optimism for the NX.

12/22/2016- Made a bet with Ganoncrotch that the first 6 months of 2017 will be worse than 2016. A poll will be made to determine the winner. Loser has to take a picture of them imitating their profile picture.

Great idea on their part. Nintendo's biggest fault was how closed their platform is. Some of the best games in recent years have been indies. And giving support is pretty awesome as well.
