Forums - Gaming - Some "console fans" just accepted that PC is the superior gaming platform.

People who don't see PC's superiority is just lying to themselves.

I see the pc of my little brother and that thing is way weaker gaming wise than my ps3 (he uses it to play minecraft) so there are some pc's that are superior, but most of them are weaker gaming wise than a ps4 or xbox.

These threads are always people speaking their opinions at each other, often as if their views are the absolute rule and everyone should feel the same way.

We're all gamers, it should be about fun at the end of the day. I started out on the Atari, Apple, and Commodore 8-bit computers. Then Atari and Commodore 16-bit systems, then PCs, NES, SMS, etc. Great stuff is everywhere. Since the Saturn era I've mostly been a PC gamer I've mostly stuck with that as primary, but honestly if you're having fun, who honestly gives a crap what box/thing you have chosen to play your games on is defined as?

Accept that some people will never change their minds, even if you vastly prefer X to Y. That guy over there will always prefer Z, and hates X, while tolerating Y. Whatever man. IDGAF. Game on.

By that logic, consoles are personal computers too.

Just because console gamers can finally browse porn and hentai doesnt make consoles PCs now.

Can you install Word or a equivalent to consoles legitmately? I think not

BAM

Check mate OUYA USER!

HOW YO DOIN YO!?

Go check the definition of a personal computer. Seems like consoles fit the bill. Just like tablets do. I know you're trying to hide your weak posts with memes and random spouting but is it because you know you made a mistake?

A good PC provides better performance and therefore a better gaming experience. Still a PC doesn't have the accessibility and AAA exclusive support of consoles so they have a rightful place in the market. Besides the console market has many fans as does pc, without any of the consoles the market wI'll face another crisis since most people above 20 which haven't switched to pc never will.

Gaming experience includes which games you can play and how comfortably you can play them. While PC plays games at higher settings, that's not all of the experience.

Not really.. video game consoles are designed to play video games as their primary function. I'm not sure where you're coming from when it comes to this magic designation of what is and isn't a PC. A desktop computer is a personal computer just as much as a notebook computer or a tablet computer is a personal computer. Its a computer designed for personal use and all perform the same types of tasks and run the same kind of applications, there's not really any way to split them all up as something different just because of their form factor.

We're not 2 generations ago anymore. People use consoles for more than just playing games. I use it to stream movies and play blu-rays. Others use it for music or browse the net.

Also, your definition of personal computer is flawed. An iPad is considered a personal computer but you cannot install the same kind of applications on it.

No because if I wanted to legitmately argue with wall - I can do that to the one right behind my PC.

I'm pretty sure my wall knows what a PC is though - so it would at least be a better conversation.

I think your wall might have better arguments than you do.

So I guess Phil spencer was wrong when he said you will need a 4K tv if you want to use a Scorpio. That's the biggest pile of crap I've ever heard From Phil. If the console is anything like the 360 or the Xbox one its scalable to 4K just like the other consoles were scalable for their time period. No wonder he caused a media circus just talking about it. They are literally saying the Scorpio marketing has cannibalized the S right out of the reveal and it doesn't even come out for a year. We will see how that turns out. Both will be 4K ready. Not only that but Microsoft will need the power for the vr which is one of the primary reasons why they followed Sony on the upgraded console. Sony has to have a console that can handle their vr as well as stop the few console gamers from upgrading to PC. Microsoft has zero reasons to stop them. Two obviously opposite reasons for an upgraded console. They will not allow themselves to be one upped again. Sony has already consulted with third party about scaling the console versions based on the hardware. Some devs were pissed (bioware) and some liked the idea (Bethesda). This means devs will control how far future games are scaled on consoles.

There *are* other resolutions besides 1080P and 4K.

Scorpio and Neo will rely on upscaling to achieve 4k output though, but right now, other than possibly the upcoming Vega... AMD does not really have any viable single cost-efficient 4k gaming capable chip... And let's face it, Vega will be to big, to expensive for a console anyway.

Wrong. Just checked the price of Dark Souls 3 and it's the same on PC and consoles, for example. Also, Uncharted 4 on PC? Yeah, I don't think so.

One more thing, don't confuse the number of people who installed Steam with users who actively buy and play games.

If you only looked on Steam. Then you are doing it wrong. On PC there is always a sale, somewhere.
Anyone who buys a game on PC that isn't discounted is... To be blunt. Silly.
And the PC has more stores that compete with each other.

And please, provide me links of the places you compared the prices with.

Uncharted 4 will come to PC, whether you like it or not, whether Naughty Dog likes it or not and whether Sony likes it or not. It will happen. It's not a matter of "if" it's a matter of "when". And it will look better than what the PS4 could achieve too.

Just don't forget that when UC4 is playable on PC (and by a very thin minority of gamers) it will already be a lot outdated so it's a silly argument.

That's why I said "same kind", not "same". There are a wide variety of word processors, spreadsheet apps, video editing apps, music production apps, painting/illustration apps, programming apps available on the iPad, many of which have a direct equivalent on Mac OS or Windows.

so in the end who won?
