Microsoft wins.

Too bad that includes Live/PS+ and not include royalties right? So now considering PS+ is increasing against Gold and PS4 is getting more licesing fees due to volume how does your math will cover for it?

PS+ should be ahead of XBL now, still wasn't enough for Sony to beat Microsoft. You have to remember, Microsoft is expanding greatly and will make a lot of money. If we included royalties, Microsoft will be doing better for sure because they bought Havoc. An engine a lot of companies use including Sony. Sony's uncharted game requires it if I am not mistaken. Microsoft will be here for a long time and increasing their empire.

How do you know how much Microsoft make with Gaming if they don't release sales numbers ?.

In 2015 to middle of 2016 you can be certain a lot have improved on PS+ revenue against Gold.

But please entertain me on explaining how would MS be ahead on royalties if Sony is outselling them 2:1 on third party SW?

And don't forget that both Nintendo, Valve and Sony are profiting more with Minecraft  than Microsoft, they paid 2.5 Billions for Microsoft but even so they have to pay the Royalties for all those companies, and the Playstation version of the game isn't being published by Microoft. (I think that the Wii U version also isn't.) so Microsoft is paying in double when a Minecraft game sell on other systems, the owners of the other systems get profit but Microsoft need to get 2.5 Billions of profit to break even.

May I laugh to my heart brim?

How does MS make from SW than Sony? They take no fee on Windows games and their licensing fee is probably similar to Sony on the Xbox and selling a lot less so how could they be making more? Or are you putting the revenue of Windows itself on the count?

And sorry to burst your bubble but even if you say Windows machines put together are more than PS4 (don't forget that it wasn't because of Minecraft so your point was pointless) the sales of PC+X1 is usually lower than PS4.

So what are you talking about?

How they say it? Better stop while you are losing?

Also, right on your source, it says *based on estimates.

And it's talking about revenue, not profit.

Sony wins.

Your article is wrong. Sony's gaming division had a revnue of $0.5B in Q3 2015.

All revenue from gaming streams included, Sony is at the top pretty easily.

Microsoft's revenue looks great because of Minecraft, basically. At this stage, they're still paying for those big acquisitions. They have a LOT of work ahead of them before they start generating profit from game sales on PC.

The one wildcard would be Windows 10 sales (after the trial is over) but it's very hard to calculate how much of that is directly influenced by gaming.

I'm still waiting to see what is the plan to profit back from this aquisition

From what I can tell:

Publisher(s)

So Microsoft studio is only getting publishing fees (and platform fees) from 4 of 10 system (mobile including android) and (PC including Max?).

So how much money do they make on a (at most $20 dollar game) when there is no platform, or publishing fee attached.

I think that they plan to sell DLC over the time. It is better to sell DLC to the dozens of millions of owners than trying to sell the game for new owners.
