Male or Female?

Male 99 40.08%

Female 64 25.91%

Both 82 33.20%

Other 2 0.81%

Depends if it's 3rd person. Females tend to block less of the screen in third person.

I always choose Male unless its like an MMO where the characters have different genders but the female has cooler moves than I choose the female.

Depends on the game. For MMOs, I almost always choose female because they tend to have much more options for character creation and outfits. For most single player games, I tend to pick male.

And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."

Whichever suits me. Often I feel the male characters look stupid or the female characters look more interesting.

Always play as male, unless there's a trophy I should get by playing as a female, like in Saints Row The Third and IV.

I always play male because i believe that makes me relate to the character i'm playing more.

If i chose female i probably wouldn't take the game very seriously. It's a bit like a troll.

Both

I pick Male most of the time but sometimes I choose female, it all depends the game.

Usually female, for several reasons.

1 - I tend to favor smaller, faster characters. Thieves, Rogues, Assassins, and so forth. Females often fit that better.

2 - I like to play a role that is a bit different from reality. Being a female character changes up the perspective somewhat.

3 - Honestly, many pre-made male characters are terrible. I'm tired of ex-soldiers. Female characters often have better back-stories.

4 - Related to #3 but I really dislike "super macho" types, be they male or female. Give me someone smart and tactical.

5 - I enjoy looking at females more than males and female characters tend to be designed to be more visually appealing. As I very much like different outfits and gear, I care about how my character looks.

Either. I have a male character in X, and a Squidgirl in Splatoon, for example.

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.
