That depends where you're from. NES didn't launch with Super Mario Bros in Europe and Japan, whereas Europe had by far the best N64 and GC launch line-ups for example. SNES launched with Sim City only in NA.

If I had to pick one, SNES NA launch would be strong contestant.

And killer apps is another advantage the Wii had over all of Nintendo's other consoles. Twilight Princess and Wii Sports, and then Super Mario Galaxy in the near future. Plus the Wii was packed with a gigantic variety of games that was lacking on the other consoles to that degree during their launches. It was a very exciting time period to be a Nintendo fan.

I completely agree. An amazing console that impressed right out of the gate with a combination of exciting new ideas and bold, ambitious entries of beloved franchises. It's probably my second favourite console of all time behind the SNES.
