It's simple unlike the rush for HD , theres been no rush or mad desire for 4k

I think neo and scorpio devs should aim for 1080 60fps with insane effects instead of 4k gaming 

i think 4k wont have mass adoption like full hd and be a pointless endeavour

plus 4.5tf and 6tf in 2016/17 wont be enough for 4k 30fps gaming imo

remember the rush for HD ??!!?? there isnt a quarter of interest in that these , maybe cause TV is kinda dead and HD tvs also brought in the era of slim and sexy TVs,  it was a 1-2 punch that 4k may never have

Either console will be able to pull off 4k30fps medium/high settings in 2016/7. PC GPU's can do it and they don't have the benefit of console optimisation.

Probably will, Scorpio isn't strong enough for native 4K. It doesn't even have a Intel CPU.

Since 2013 the saturation of 4K has ballooned. Sony and Microsoft both promised Netflix a 4K streaming capable device by the end of 2016. Thus we have the Xbone S and the PlayStation Neo.

I don't agree that 4k won't be adopted by the masses.

I do however agree that both Neo and Scorpio should focus on 1080p gaming with shinier graphics. For gaming right now I don't think it's worth the massive power difference that could be spent on different things.

The Scorpio is a $800 PC or at the least next gen. So the comparison to Neo is invalid.

Wrong. The prices are coming down pretty quickly, so I guarantee you that mass adoption will be there. We're already getting to the point where 4k is a plausible choice, and it will be even more so in the not-so-distant future.

Yeah... but thats exactly what will get 60m console gamers angry because their systems just became obsolete after only 3 years.

not obsolete , games on neo and scorpio will be compatible just with less bells and whistles

think of it as a n3ds and 3ds
