Probably easier said than done. I'm thinking they will release multiple variants of the controller. The patent makes it unclear as to whether the sticks/dpad/face buttons can be swapped. If they manage to pull it off though...

That bottom picture appears to have a slot at the back. I reckon that is to house the mount for Sony phones or perhaps the Vita.
