A. Sony's conference felt short, about 80 minutes long. A Red Dead 3 demo would have pushed it to about 90 minutes, a conference length that would have felt more natural.

B. It was really strange that Sony ended with Days Gone gameplay, a game they showed a trailer for earlier in the show, generally trailers and gameplay demos for a game go back to back.

C. Take-Two said they'd have a big presence at E3, yet the only thing they showed was a Mafia 3 trailer outside of the conferences.

D. There were numerous Red Dead 3 leaks leading up to E3; the in-game map, a screenshot, concept art; and Red Dead 3 was heavily rumored for an E3 reveal, even by reliable insiders.

To me that all adds up to this rumor being true. Rockstar has had a history of creating controversy, to the point where a certain US Senator has tried to get almost every single one of their games banned in the US. Maybe they didn't want to push their luck by announcing another violent game so soon after the Orlando shootings. If the game is announced in the next few weeks, we'll pretty much know that the announcement was delayed.
