Decent enough review, but one thing annoys me. I don't think they have rated Prologue based on the fact that it is a Prologue and costs half the price of a normal game. Surely this should give it more brownie points and surely Lasting Appeal should have been graded based on the FACT that this is a prologue to the real game and is half the price.

Also, they state that you will tire of the tracks, yet there is more in the game than some full-priced games, yet give it a 7.

I reckon they should be scoring the Overall score at over 9 to be honest, if price is to play a part.

That would be a stupid way to rate the game. This game should be reviewed just like any other game. If it doesn't have the lasting appeal as other games, then you give a high score like the other games. If they gave a 9, you'd be saying it's right there with Smash Brothers in lasting appeal.

I second that. Some $10 Wii shovelware should get bigger score as well.

Well I just don't really think that lasting appeal is a particually good category, there should be something more along the lines of value for money. Because obviously if you compare its lasting appeal too many full priced games then it is going to struggle, but you are paying half as much (in the UK at least) so you would expect half as much content

All reviewing sites and magazines dumped Wii Sports into the 70s because it was "too short", "shallow", "repetitive". And it's free with the console which should warrant a score of at least 90. The price can be accounted for in a review only in cases where the game is multiplatform and on version is cheaper than the others.

For a glorified demo it looks pretty good according to IGN. At least GT fans will eb entertained until the real game comes out.

Wii sports is one of the worse games on the Wii.  You can't just ignore the games lack of quality because it's free with the console. The game *is* shallow, short, and repetitive. All of that should be accounted for in the games score.

Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, really, is the biggest demo you'll ever play.

Not really. Half Life 2 was the biggest demo I ever played. I am glad the full version of The Orange Box finally came out though.

Come on IGN, It's not a demo. The demo that Japan could download... was a demo. This is a game. It is not designed to repressed what GT5 will be. It's not designed to sell GT5. It's its own game. GT5 will have a tone of different features. Is there a splash screen somewhere telling you what those are going to be? No, because it's not a demo.

Man, GT5-P is an awesome "game". It actually has a alot to do. Online is great excpet you get little bastards that purposely knock you out. I hate to play dirty but If it keeps happening I'm gunna ram the shit out of their car. :P

LOL. Thats why I'm glad Forza 2 had internal damge. You never get bastards ramming you because they'll break their suspension or Steering damge etc. Anyways the review is as I expected. Graphics awesome Gameplay is second best to Forza2. I knew this from playing the demo. Also if GT4 Prologue is anything to go by, They will obviously change the number of events cars and tracks but the graphics and handling stayed exactly the same for GT4 full version.

Personally I don't think a 10 is out of the question for graphics however there are a lot of things to take into account for a graphics score besides "Ultra-Realism". Galaxy scored so well in that department not just becasue it was on the Wii but also due to art direction, orchestration of special effects, imagination and immersive feel. "Real" graphics have a hard time in those areas and can sometimes feel clinical in my opinion.

As for this gettng a 7.0 in lastng appeal but "having more than many full-priced games" well I sure many full priced games get less than a 7.0.

All in all I am expecting this to be about the same score Mariokart will end up with. Both fun racing games that serve their fanbase but don't bring too much new to the table. The full GT5 may be a different story.

Final* Word on Game Delays:

The game will not be any better or include more content then planned. Any commnets that say so are just PR hogwash to make you feel better for having to wait.

Delays are due to lack of proper resources, skill, or adequate planning by the developer.

Do be thankful that they have enough respect for you to delay the game and maintain its intended level of quality.

*naznatips is exempt

No flaming intended. Wii Sports is a great game to demonstrate what Wii can do, but I'd rather call it a tech demo instead of a game...
