The Youtuber Zeltik made a great video on the story of Breath of the Wild's demo, and how it connects with the greater story. I definitely recommend it.

Ok, its really interesting. A post-apocalyptic Zelda. It also makes sense that the persons saying wake up are a Sheika that will appear later in the game. If this game is post-apocalyptic I would want to see if Princess Zelda will make an appearance.

Possibly she was in stasis too. 

Is it just me, or does that robed man look like the King of Hyrule (human form of King of Red Lions from WW)?

Very interesting. What happened 100 years ago? Why was link put to sleep? I have to wait 8 and a half months to find out :(

A lot of people have been saying this as well. I wouldn't rule it out. And it would provide a good story arc of why he's out on the plateau.

Maybe hes the guy that gave link his first sword in the NES game. Nintendo talked about it in the live stream for like 1 minute.

Unless it's in that timeline, I wonder how it could be the same person... So I doubt that, I think they meant more as an easter egg thing that there is someone always helping out, such as King of Red Lions too.

I'll keep this in mind, but would like to go into the game without knowing what the story exactly is..
