Forums - Gaming - People interested on PS4Neo, would you mind Scorpio being more powerful than Neo?

I do mind.

If the PS4 Neo is not the most powerful console in the market when it launches. I will not upgrade.

I already have an entry level PS4, and the only reason why I will sell it to get a new one is having bragging rights. XD

On a serious note, if the new PS4 games look like they did during the E3 presentation, I don't need no upgrade.

Not really, Sony has tons of exclusives I'm looking for that I'd like to benefit from extra power.

I will soon have my Scorpio when I get a GTX1070 for my living room pc.

I'll get a neo either way, but whether it being less powerful would bother me depends on the price of both machines.

Scorpio I'll only be picking up if it has a desktop mode running standard windows 10.

I wouldn't mind if the Neo isn't as powerful as the Scorpio because with Sony being the market leader devs are likely to cater their games towards the Neo rather than maximizing for the Scorpio. Devs will take the Scorpio kit and Neo kit and reach a middle ground for the both. Thus, the Scorpio's only advantage is if MS decides to make exclusive games that utilizes it to it's fullest.

The bigger question is, if the Neo was weaker than the Scorpio, would Scorpio owners mind that their games aren't utilize to its fullest because devs are catering more towards the Neo?

This E3 really just completely solidified my lack of interest in getting an Xbox One.

I will probably resist getting a Neo, but then my compulsiveness will make me feel like my PS4 is inadequate, so I will just end up buying one anyway.

Curse you consumerism.

I was NEVER interested in Scorpio....

I was however, at one point interested in buying an XB1 for pennies during BF this year -- i've since decided MS has literally no games that interest me enough to buy one. Any games I am at all interested in -- i'll just play on my work dev laptop.

As for Neo -- I will be buying Neo For sure:
1.) 1080p@60 Remote play.
2.) 4K Content for my 4K TV.
3.) My basement 4K will have the NEO, and i can then move my base PS4 to my 1080p plasma in the living room.
4.) Better VR for my PSVR.
5.) Likely to have Better WiFi.
6.) Ridiculously small chance... but a chance that it might have PS3 emulation.

This E3 solidified my decision to build a new gaming rig, so Scorpio doesn't really hold my interest at all. I will upgrade to the Neo, but primarily because my PS4's wifi functionality doesn't work. Been waiting for a reason to swap it out for a new one and well, Neo it is.

I own a decent computer and am willing to upgrade to windows 10 for a couple games, so Scorpio is just not for me compared to what I expect from Neo combined with PS4 library. However if more japanese developpers start releasing traditionnaly exclusive to playstation franchises, Neo would loose all interest to me, except for VR titles.

Not sure if I'll buy a Neo at this point. But if I end up going that way I won't mind Scorpio being more powerful. They seem to have different functions really. Scorpio seems almost like the next Xbox, while Neo is just a suped up PS4.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

I will buy a Scorpio for third party multiplats and VR if it has the best hardware.
