Yeah, mine is static too...
I don't use WiFi but a wired connection. I noticed last night that even as I turned off the blue light for message notices that the accessory network adapter light was flashing non stop on the wii. As soon as you turn it on it stops flashing...
I did find the solution however, shutting the wii off completely. (holding power for 5 seconds)
