Forums - Nintendo - Has anyone else noticed how the Wii sucks...

...your bandwidth when you turn it off? Hehe. :)

Seriously though, when I shut down my wii sometimes it starts glowing blue and I noticed that part of my bandwidth is going to the wii. Are they scanning my system or sending me the latest weather and news or something? Anyone know what the hell is nintendo doing with my wii when I turn it off?

That means you got a message, or there is an update available. I would think it would take your bandwidth to download the message.

Exactly what you said, they are sending you news, the weather thing and such... It's the wiiconect24, you can turn it off in the settings.

The front disc loader on the Wii is like that car from Knight Rider. When it turns blue, it's watching you. My Wii undresses me with her eyes.

I thought this was gonna be my new favourite thread! lol but then I saw what came after the "...."

I can't help ya, but some other guys posted some suggestions.

this takes the cake...I'm still laughing...

The light only flashes for new messages, so anything sent by one of your Wii friends, or by Nintendo (be it an update, important message or something from the Mii contest channel)

It doesn't flash for the news/weather channels, those are updated regularly but your Wii wont flash when it does that.

You can dim or turn the light off in Wii settings.

I can put my flamethrower down.
