Forums - Microsoft - So yeah, im going to have to apologize to my friend for talking her into buying an Xbox One

Yes because 60$ amends for a 300$ mislead purchase-advice?  Lmao, here is 60$, sorry i tricked you into buying a product you never needed when you was right to begin with..

It's still her fault though

It doesn't suffice  and I didn't trick her either. Neither of us knew ms would go so far with their windows 10 Xbox one initiative last year. I will see what she wants to do but one of things I could definitely do is buy her scalebound on top of other things to come. I guess you don't know how I am as a friend. If I screw up I take full responsibility for my mistakes. If any cost was involve I cover it so it doesn't need to be brought up again outside of jokes. I also buy things for my friends without them asking or expecting anything back.

Agreed.

so they are being pro consumer now?

I think it's pro profit but bad marketing for the Xbox brand to PC gamers. Microsoft knew Sony would sell more on multiplatform games and exclusives because of their active installed base so they went for the Xbox one/10 initiative. They cannot risk sony taking more gamers from them for multiplayer so they publicized their willingness to do ps4/Xbox one cross play so gamers won't feel the need to always go with the brand their friends have but the one they personally feel comfortably with very smart thinking.

Apologize for what? Hasn't she played anything on it? If she has enjoyed a bit of gaming on it then there's nothing to apologize for.

PC is the PC

My Etsy store

My Ebay store

Deus Ex (2000) - a game that pushes the boundaries of what the video game medium is capable of to a degree unmatched to this very day.

She has I just feel bad because she was so pessimistic earlier on. Yes she has. We played dead rising 3 together.

Then it hasn't been a bad investment at all. If she had fun it was already worth it.

She already had a pc and a ps4 but we all thought Microsoft was going to keep most of the major titles exclusive. When she bought it only dead rising 3 and fable legends were announced for the initiative.

So which games did she already play on XBO? Did she enjoy them?

If yes: no harm done. She had some fun with the system and still can sell it without much loss (if she doesn't want it anymore).

Huh? Did she buy the console a year ago to collect dust until Scalebound is out? These days when games get delayed, released broken and even get cancelled? Well, a lesson learned at least.

edit. Ah saw those previous posts. So she has played her Xbox and can continue to do so. Or sell it. I'm sure she'll be ok 😄

Unless she really likes xbox IP's, you shouldn't have recommended the xbox one at all. There's really no reason to buy it otherwise. Anyway, just buy her a gift to make up for it.
