It just means its the only franchise Ubisoft will bring to the NX.
Wow... we're really scraping the bottom of the Nintendoom barrel here.
If Just Dance is the only game Ubisoft will bring to NX, they need to cancel it ASAP.

Why?
Im worried because it was the only NX game they announced. This means it might flop.
hmmm, could be for Ubi's shareholders. Just dance on playstation and xbox platforms isn't going to set their world on fire.
I wouldn't read too much into it. Seeing as Nintendo hasn't shown it off yet any big attention worthy games will be saved for the systems official unvieling
| Ljink96 said: It is a bit awkward. What does this say about NX then? Do they not think high of it? I'm once again...pretty scared. Just dance usually requires motion controls...I thought NX was trying to differentiate from Wii U and 3DS...unless all this talk about not being a successor to Wii U and 3DS is true. |
Sometimes for sure, but it can also be played from a smart phone I believe, sure the game and scoring system requires a motion sensing device of some sorts, but it could well just be a moves on a screen to dance to game... or come packed in with a usb dance mat for the system? who knows.
Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive
I wouldn't look too deeply into it but that's just me :p

Because it will bomb. Cancel it and make a console for gamers in 2020 or so, and pay for ports of all big titles. This casual low-spec garbage will not sell consoles anymore.

Nintendo may as well just make a weird console, they don't have any chance against Sony/MS. Maybe if MS was leaving the industry there would be an opening but they don't have one now with Scorpio MS is doubling down on going after Sony, there is no room for a third wheel console. Honestly in terms of dedicated game hardware, the portable market, or whatever is left of it, probably has to carry Nintendo. The mistake was already made in allowing both Sony and MS to take over the mainstream console market, you can't allow two companies that big just step all over your turf and think you're going to win it back like 20 years later. They needed to fight tooth and nail and the GameCube at minimum needed to bloody MS' nose so badly that they wouldn't want to come back, but Nintendo never made a stand there and these are the consequences. |
no chance against Microsoft? you are aware that Microsoft generally LOSES money on their video game division right? like almost every year of its existence. success is only so valuable if you're earning nothing really from it. The only reason they both is because they are a huge corporation and want to keep a significance in a number of industries in some cases regardless of success
Nintendo MAKES money
in terms of total software and hardware (handheld + home console) Nintendo pushes a lotttt more units than Microsoft
in fact the X-One has been doingfairly poorly recently.
If Nintendo just makes a smart home console or somehow connects their handheld audience with their home console audience again then they will be hugely competitive against even Sony. just a matter of making smart decisions
Sony and Microsoft will never have the clout that Nintendo has in the gaming industries. You can't go into any toy store or Hot Topic without seeing a ton of Nintendo branded items- they are extremely relevant
also I wouldn't put too much wait in loose announcements for the NX. Ubisoft is probably allowed to announce games they are releasing on the NX as long as it gives literally nothing away. Simply stating that the next Just Dance will be on the NX means nothing really. Its a franchise that does extremely well on Nintendo systems and it was a given that Ubisoft would continue releasing them. Hell I think even the 2015 or 2016 Just Dance on the original Wii (Still?) of all things sold really well. its free cash for Ubisoft
