their werent anywhere near as many of those threads as "NX will fail" ones

Some people equate 2 = 20.

They see 2 PS4 will fail threads as being equal to 20 NX/Switch will fail threads. There

There aren't even 20 people that probably post regularly that aren't Nintendo fanboys. Stop it

Yea, it is interesting to see how many people have called the Switch a success after only 4 1/2 months of sales.  Granted, it has had a very good launch and is still in demand.  However,  we're going to have to wait a year or two to actually see where things settle before we can call it a success.  For all we know, sales could plummet next year and it could only go on to sell 20M-30M units.  I don't see that happening (I'm predicting it to match the 3DS's sales), but you never know what the future brings.  Especially when it comes to the HH/mobile market.

Hell, a lot didn't think mobile would hurt the HH market so much, but it did.  Sony sold so few Vitas, they dropped out of the market.  And even without a strong competitor, the 3DS is only going to do 1/2 the sales of the DS.  Maybe even less than 1/2.

Soooo... let's wait to call the device a success until it sold 100M. Did you had the same patience with PS4? I think we should wait, sales could die down fast on that too.

Do what?  Yes, let's compare a console that has been out for over 3 1/2 years, and has proven itself, to one that hasn't even been out for 6 months.  If the PS4 had dropped off a cliff in a year or two, then yea, we could say it is a failure.  Since it didn't, and is still currently ahead of the PS2, we can say it's a big success.  For the Switch, the only thing we can say for sure is that it is having a great launch window.  If after a year or two it is still selling well, with little to no sign of decline, then it will be a success.  If it drops off a cliff and, say, only sells half of the 3DS, then it was not.

According to your definition of launch window.  But, even if you want to say it is no longer in the launch window, it doesn't change what I said. We have no idea how the Switch will perform in a year from now. Or two years. Or three. I wouldn't really get too cocky, otherwise you may be the one eating crow in a year or two, like many of us in here had to.

A full mainline console Pokemon game is coming out for it. It will do well.

I hope it is a portable that can be connected to the TV.

That and first party titles would be the only reason why I would get it.

This aged rather well!

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

Is it dead on arrival or not?

We're still "evaluating" that
