Microsft just announced their next console. It is codenamed "Project Scorpio" and will exist within the Xbox family. further more, it will reportedly run in 4K and have VR capabilities as well as support for every Xbox One game and peripheral. While I am excited for it, it is terrifying. Sony and Nintendo are releasing supposed revised versions of their current consoles. Well, at least Sony is, and Nintendo has yet to say anything about the NX. But this new Xbox console seems like it could blow every other console out of the water if it is really as powerful as they say it will be. Sony especially seems like theyre going to be fucked next year if an updated PS4 is all they have. 

But on another note, maybe this will be the kick other devs needed to start pumping the gas a little more on console hardware and visuals. The 8th gen as a whole has been broken promises. Im actually excited to see such a huge step forward all of a sudden

No. Scorpio sounds just like an upgeaded Xbox One, so I don't see why an upgrade Playstation 4 would struggle against it. And if Scorpio really is much more powerful than the competition, I can guarantee it's also going to cost a lot - either to Microsoft or consumers. The most powerful console has rarely (if ever) won a generation.

Probably not... It will be interesting but putting games on Windows giving less reasons to buy a x1. Of course, it will be cheaper to buy a x1 Scorpio than a PC but we shall see... I wouldn't put my money on it and we should really wait till the Sony press conf to see what they got in store
