As a big fan of the Digimon series I was extremely hyped when I read the news of a new Digimon anime and an accompanying game for the 3DS >.<

This time we are going to see new types of Digimons, the "Appli Monsters" or Appmon :D such as Gatchmon

The AppMon are artificial life forms with the ability to think and act, existing in the boundary between the human world and the digital space that allows people to interact with the system.

There are going to be two games for the 3DS:

The first one (launching this autumn) an eshop exclusive titled "Appli Monsters: Cyber Arena" compatible with QR codes and the merchandise medals of the series where you can scan the appmon to make them battle. 

The second one a physical game launching after the eshop game but bandai hasn´t reveal anything about it yet.

As a personal opinion I love the way the series is evolving because it´s taking it to a more digital and modern level using the tecnology that we all know and use today such as smartphones :)

Interesting new edition to the franchise, but I don't know about it coming over to the west.

Some Digimon games come over some don't. Think the PSP ones never made it over. 

Nobody likes the new Digimons u.u

It might fall under the people have no faith in it coming over to the west, or the 3DS crowd isn't as big here as it once was. 

The Vita game is absolutely amazing, but yeah even though that was localized it still had the Jap voice work in it, would love to see this coming here... and also on the Vita instead :D

3DS deserves to have an exclusive Digimon >.< If the anime goes well maybe they will bring the games to the west :)

good for the series, looks like the idea is gonna work, the new monsters look uninspired though

Yeah I seen that alright, hopefully gets sent to the west after the decent sales of Digimon Cyber Sleuth here, but can only hope really.
