Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Riverside, first VR game for NX

Yeah, I call BS, there's no way they don't have an NX dev kit yet but announced a VR game for NX anyway, just hoping it has VR. Looks like the recent VR rumor was true, which means it is a handheld that you caan hook up to a TV for console mode gameplay. Hopefully Nintendo releases an SCD alongside NX to boost the graphical power in console mode.

What does this mean, that there are two Nintendo NX's coming out in 2017, one handheld and one real console? And both support VR?

Not exactly. The recent leak that first mentioned NX VR support said that NX is a tablet sized handheld, which can be hooked up to a tv (likely wirelessly) to play games on a tv. Seperately, Nintendo patented what they call a supplemental computing device not too long ago, which could theoretically be used to boost NX graphics when it's used in console mode.

So NX is just a handheld or a handheld hybrid? No real traditional NX console to battle PS4 and XBox One??!

"NX VR home console handheld hybrid confirmed"

Nope. Not even if the devs did have a dev kit. The gimmick isn't VR, it's drawing textures.

Which Nintendo hardware can already do. With a touch screen.
