Forums - Sony - How did Uncharted 3 get a 92 metacritic?

I know, it's totally unfair. Uncharted 2 got a 96 and Uncharted 3 was the better game. No way it deserved a 92. Should have been 97/98 at least.

I actually like Uncharted 3 but the entire series is over rated.

I think its funny Killzone 2 has a score in the 90s. The game is boring and MP died pretty fast.

No its not. you think so :)

Killzone 2 is one of my favorite games of all time

It's good game no doubt and in many many ways better than UC2 but still not the best of the trilogy and it has a lot of flaws i mean the whole trilogy is crap now to when i compare them to UC4.

I agree about the woolly controls and i noticed that it has the worst writing of all Uncharted games when i replayed it after i finished UC4.. thank god Bruce and Neil took over.

Back in 2011 yes it is a 92 but now in 2016 it's not simple as that and UC2 is most fucking definitely not a 96, both games today would be 85 maybe lower.

The real unfair score was TLOU 95.
Anything less than 100 was just not right
.

This :)

Most console exclusives, or games from " big" developers get "great" to "fantastic" scores. How often do you see a exclusive score less than an 80?
Reviewers just aren't harsh enough, in my opinion.

Who are those "big" developers?

Beats the heck out of me. I love Uncharted, Uncharted 2, and Uncharted 4. But 3 is a bit of a mess.

You really hit all the major points. The pacing is off, the focus on clumsy melee is tiring, enemies spawn behind you, the story is recycled, and the aiming and moving is cumbersome.

Plus the final boss battle is a joke. And I don't know who thought walking through the desert for 20 minutes would be fun for the player.

I laughed when I read this actually. Man, what game have YOU played? Because what I played was an awesome gaming experience. I don't analyze things to death I just "experience" it on a dime and take it in immediately. If it works for me within the first 5-15 min I'm usually sold all the way through.

Uncharted 3's overall story and sub characters were not as great as 2's but man oh man the game itself was awesome. The ship graveyard, while doing nothing much for the story actually ends up being the best section ion the entire series. I even doubt Uncharted 4 has a section that will top it but I can't say for now.

Uncharted deserved more than a 92. If Uncharted 2 has a 96, then Uncharted 3 should have been more in the 93-95 range. So far it seems to me Uncharted 4 is definitely the better game so a point or so less than whatever U4 deserves (which to me is probabluy going to end up being in the 94-95 range.)

Don't blame you. It was the only Uncharted game in which I was done with it after my second playthrough and that was because of the platinum. For the record, I have beaten uncharted 2 around ten times and Uncharted 1 around 5 times.

The best game ever made.

The PS5 Exists.

Because reviewers are lazier yet also more cynical these days, and if they have to review games that challenge what they expect or what doesn't go with the current trend of what the game was "supposed" to be like they score the game lower.

Uncharted 3 does everything they expect with the trends of AAA made games of today.

Lube Me Up

Chase scenes were awesome and some moments were super memorable. But yeah it had some issues compared to U2. It still deserves 90+.
