I like them, I Have played League of Legends for over 2 years and they remind me of Warcraft 3 (One of my favorite PC Games).
The problem with Mobas is the team work, in those kind of games you really need team work or you will not win. And aways have some kind of troll or someone who cannot control his emotions

We call The Division a RPG, even Ubisoft state that the game is a RPG.

You level up your character, get stronger then the match ends and you have to start all over again. So yeah, just don't see any real incentive to bother when everything is going to be reset anyway. Not particularly fond online multiplayer stuff anyway, but at least some other genres actually reward you for your effort. Like shooters you level up and unlock new weapons, or FIFA you increase your players stats or earn coins to buy new better players, not everything is rest when a match ends and I prefer it that way. |
Your skill isn't reset when a match ends... So there's your progression lol.

don't like them at all. And I like pretty much all genres.

Have you ever played a physical sport? You don't have a skill bar there, telling you how much you improve. But you can feel that you are progressing and getting better.

Isn't it that most MOBA's if not all rewards you at the end though? Like coins and such which you can use to buy skins, announcers, backgrounds, pets, etc. I know in dota 2 you can get items for your characters if you're lucky at the end of a match(can't remember what else).

And while I have disliked MOBA's so very much in the past PARAGON is really, really good and reminds me much of split screen old school time splitter maps. What are your thoughts? |
You should really try Smite as well. I like it better than Paragon, though I haven't played all that much of paragon I find it's pace a lot slower than Smite's. Paragon has a few features that are cool, but over all I prefer Smite.
Just in case you're wondering Smite is on the same platforms as Paragon. It's free to play on all platforms, but is on Beta on PS4 whereas it's fully released on Xb one and PC, PS4 and Xb one are on the same patch versions, PC is one step ahead. So it's absolutely no skin off your nose to download it and give it a try, and uninstall it if you don't like it.
