Wow the pound fell hard after Sunderland results came in...

People are making shitloads of money tonight. Though after those initial results I'm kinda now thinking this is wide open.

Angela Merkel took our cash,

But we're still on the lash.

Sung before our famous victory over Italy yesterday.  It won't affect me.  It will damage the UK and Europe.  But Europe will survive.  The UK will have shit bargaining powering for trade deals with the likes of China, EU and the US.  you will lose in the long term.

Scotland will be happy to join.  The EU made Ireland an extremely wealthy country over the last 30 years.  Scotland would be wise to follow.  Especially with such vast energy resources both renewable and non renewable.

That reads like you are still on the lash.

That's because I am.  Yours reads like a cranky man not at the euros having fun :D

TGV to lyon tomorrow.  The session lives on.  Flying home on Monday.  Been an epic 17 days!

It's really neck and neck at the moment. 9 results in, 266k leave, 259k remain.

53-47 for leave.

Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

Far too soon to say at the moment. But Newcastle and Sunderland are inspiring that there is hope for the North.

Not looking good for the remain choice. I'd bet that leave will win.

It's going to show more than that in a minute. Kettering have just come in and extended Leave's lead...

Hopefully the Brits have some pride and choose not to be Merkel's puppets anymore.

Interesting stats at skynews:

(polls).

18-24 years olds = 75% wants in +65 year olds = only 39% in.

Look at Germany blocking the movement of US bases to Poland and the Baltics - you are sending a clear signal, that our safety is worth less to you than good relations with Russia and the money American soldiers spend in Germany. And then you dare to demand solidarity when it comes to immigrants...

I'm quite confused when reading this, I'm wondering if I'm actually getting you right or if this is just a misunderstanding:

You seriously want US military bases in your country?!?

Do you realize that US military bases are like herpes? If your country ever gets infected with them, you will never ever get rid of them again! No truly sovereign country would ever allow another country's army to have bases in their own country. Even Israel, who are basically the US's best friends and always feel threatened by this or that country, never allowed US army bases in their country. And they never will, for a good reason.

Do you seriously believe that american military bases would make your country any safer? The opposite is true: If it should ever come to a military confrontation with Russia again (which would basically mean world war 3), Germany will be about the most unsafe place on earth, it will be about the first country to be devastated. Not despite of all the large US military bases, atomic bombs etc. over here, but because of them.

Sorry, but I disagree totally with you and think that you're absolutely wrong on all accounts.

If these military bases are so bad, why doesn't your government want to allow to move them from Germany to Poland? Why is Merkel fighting and causing international tensions to keep these bases, if they are so bad? Sorry, but you make no sense.

And you are totally wrong with your assessment. Germany will be safe in case of war, nobody will attack you. The Baltics, Poland and parts of Scandinavia is where the war will take place in Europe, if it breaks out. That's why we're screwed and we need American support. And know one thing - Russians don't give a flying f*** about Poles, Lithuanians, Estonians, etc. They will be killing us like there's no tomorrow. But killing Americans? Now that's different! They won't be killing Americans, cause the outrage in USA would be massive and Russia would be scared of their response. That's why American bases and their surroundings would be the most safe and secure places. My friend lives next to an airport that is being used by Americans very often and he's very confident that it's one of the safest places in Poland to live. I agree.

American bases make my country safer. They are the best deterrant we may have apart from our army, which we're building up as well. There is nothing that provokes Russian aggression more than weakness. The stronger we are, the more troops we have, the larger the American presence, the safer we are.
