XBO S is doing great. August should be a easy XBO victory imo, even if Sony cut the price.

I think that the next interesting month will be October, we already know that the PS4 will out-sell the Xbox One until agust because of the Pre-orders of Xbox Slim, and we already know agust numbers.

To an extent. We won't really know if these are new consumers or original xb1 replacements until January. There's a big us install base and if a lot of then want to rid of their old hardware that's a lot of moved units. 

While we're grateful for the leaks, we'd need more detailed software revenue stats if we want to recognise new faces in the xb1 crowd, or repeated faces like Forza. Maybe platform orderings in the top 10...

If there is a price drop from Sony, I would expect it late July, early August, so I don't think it's necessarily a given that the XB1 will take August's NPD, but it is 'likely'.

The site says that the console launch in Agust 31th, 1 day is enought to affect the Agust NPD ?, would it not affect the September NPD instead ?.

NPD will track August into September to the closest week end. Even if it was one day, all the preorders would count for that one day.

Yes, sales will affect August (for reason Swordf1sh has mentioned) and September. If Sony feel as if sales of the PS4 are down they'll likely reduce the price in order to meet their targets. Beating the XB1 sales won't be their priority just a 'possible' result of a price drop. Winning or losing isn't something Sony will be too interested in, meeting targets is. People need to realise they're a business and they make business decisions, not PS4 fans sitting on forums. You don't lose money in the long run just to win one or two months in the short term.
