It isn't relevant to most of the Nintendo community at the present, but for people who follow Sony/MS and a lot of major third parties, then yes it is still very much relevant.

I guess EA, but they always have one of the worst conferences anyway...
It's still a bit relevant, but not so much. It's a nice opportunity to show your games, but nothing that you can't do nowadays with streaming. It doesn't harm anyone of course, but I lost interest on E3 years ago tbh.

Maybe, but I believe their own event will be a couple of days before E3 and maybe their products will be showed in other press conferences.

EA and Activision.

Besides, it's pretty much guaranteed that EA games will be shown at either the Sony or Microsoft conferences anyway. So they'll still be partially there at least. |
True. No reason for them to spend money on their own conference.

Activision has never had a big E3 presence. If the new COD is not shown at Sony or MS conference, then Ill agree with you.

would love to see data backing your statement.

EA and Activision bowed out. That's all the data I need. E3 isn't what's relevant. The information is. No publisher needs that platform anymore, which is why three of the biggest ones in all of gaming bowed out this year. They can do their own thing and get more coverage.
So yes, its relevancy is undeniably dwindling.
It's still the biggest gaming related event of the year, it's not Sony or MS' fault that Nintendo is barely bothering to show up.

Well they are only showing one game, but they are asking for 90 minutes of press time. Thats longer than most of their conferences have lasted. I still think Nintendo know that E3 is important. They are just in a weird situation with the NX right now.
