Forums - Sales - Turok Ships 1 mln

These sales really aren't all that good.

1 million across both platforms for a next gen game with high production values? I suspect that yields a profit, but not much of one. It's when you get upwards of 2 million (like DMC4) where multi-plats like this really stretch well beyond their production costs.

I must disagree with you, the game has sold very well, and i have no doubt it has made money with the 1mil.  The game is using the Unreal engine, which is cheaper then building your own engine, the game also looks not that great compared to some of the other games on the market. I doubt this game cost 20mil to make even on both systems. Go play the demo, its very bad, i bet the game had a short development time.

turok what happend? i remeber that turok game on N64, cant memba the name, but it was amazing.

Most likely it was Turok 2: Seeds of Evil.   A definite classic.

The rEVOLution is not being televised

I rented it and couldn't stand it. It can't compare against the goodness of the first 2 on N64. I played a good chunk of the game and the aiming was just making it unfun

LOL this is the second person to say 1 million isn't good anymore oddly enough another mod.  We don't know how much it is costing these folks to truly make these games.  1 million has been a pretty set standard for a while now and I am sure most devs or publishers keep that in mind when making their games.  It is why platinium sales are always reported and looked at as the goal for any game.  Now that they reach it for some at least here it is not enough LOL.  Guess people get spoiled from seeing the Halo's,Mario's, Guitar hero's, etc when those are the exception not the rule.  All other games strive for the 1 million mark.  If they are reporting it then they must be happy with the numbers though I guess we can see once their final reports are released maybe then we can see that Turok was actually very profitable for them.  Again just seems really dumb to knock sales of 1 million for "regular" games which is what Turok really is.  Talk to me about 1 million being a failer for the next Halo, Mario or COD etc.

The older Turoks where much better than this one. Still a good game though...

I allways like Turok , so Im glad that it did well :)

Vote the Mayor for Mayor!

Turok games were huge on the N64, million sellers all of them. Nintendo kind of lost the FPS crown once the xbox came out. Surprised to see a Wiimote-Turok game is not on the Wii.

Heeeeyyyy!!!! <Snap>

cannot understand how dribble like this can rack up that many shipments.

i mean it really is awful game, the save points and aiming and frustrating
