Forums - Sony Discussion - Sony: PS4 Entering Phase Of Making Profit.

PS3 as were many other consoles sold to end user at a loss. (PS3 sold for 600 cost 700++ to manufacture).

PS4 Sold at 399 cost 372 to manufacture, made a gain on each system sold, is what they claimed slightly after release, but I'm sure that did not include R&D.

But his current statement prob includes R&D.

Retailers/suppliers do not buy the consoles off of Sony for $399.

Consoles cost billions of RnD to make. And it normally takes years to make that all back. I am sure game Development and marketing is included aswell.

Wow 20m? I thought 2015 was supposed to be the ps4 peak year.

Correct.

I wonder what the cost to manufacture is now?

A lot cheaper once they release the Slim after E3.
