I couldn't finish Tomb Raider reboot, I hate the voice acting for Lara and I hate the death porn. I also think all the characters apart from Lara are like cardboard cutouts...just there.
I watched the sequel on Youtube, wont be buying it...obviously. Didn't like the dialogue, it is cheesy as hell especially for the villains. I think Lara is a very dreary person, art and tombs seem well done but locations are just more snowy mountains from the first game.
The fight with one boss is literally the exact same as Bill from TLOU. Makes no sense when she kills way bigger and tougher guys over and over. The finishing moves are gratuitous and really don't meld well in my mind with the supposed explorer / treasure hunter theme of the game.
In the first game I stopped because I didn't care if she survived or not... (those waterfalls....)

Haven't played Rise of the Tomb Raider yet but at Chapter 13 in UC4 I think I can safely say I enjoyed Tomb Raider 2013 more than UC4 (both are great games in their own right).

I almost forgot Tomb raider 2013 is also on ps4 and its on sale now on psn for 10 bucks so i just bought it without hesitation. Downloading right now.

I didn't like the last Tomb Raider so I wont be playing this one. Felt soulless to me.

Asking this question on VGChartz is like asking the attendents of a Star Wars film's opening night if they prefer Star Wars or Star Trek.

I know, but my opinion is not biased so maybe I will have some opinions like that too. It's ok if they think that uncharted 4 is better tho.

You said you are going to be hated. maybe uncharted 4 too.cause its a exclusive game.Life is fair.

Haven't played it yet, but ROTR seems to have many of the same flaws of its predecessor, just with nicer graphics and a few small gameplay expansions. It may do a few things that Uncharted doesn't, but it doesn't strike me as the better game over all and most seem to agree.

I'm curious why you'd think you would be hated for your opinion.  From what I see on the Internet console exclusives, regardless of brand, typically have fairly equal amounts of people for or against them, if that's indeed what you're referring too.

l <---- Do you mean this glitch Gribble?  If not, I'll keep looking.

I bought Uncharted 4 and i like it a lot, I just think that the other is better and it's not getting the same attention cause it's not on playstation. I'm going to be hated cause it's not a popular opinion, and if you say that something is better than a ND game some fans can be to passionated with their responses, although so far everything seems polite. Minus the guy who said that women like tomb raider more, making this a gender thing...

I know for me and pretty much all my friends, as some have pointed out with the phrase, it is the "death porn," character and story that put us off. It has nothing to do with the sequel being an Xbox timed exclusive.

As great as the reviews might be and the universal acclaim for both, the reboot and sequel, I think there might be a real dislike of the way Laura's character has changed.
