What a load of hooplah.

My Nintendo discounts any hope of NX streaming anything on a primary basis. How has no one thought of this?

EDIT: No suprise who ninja'd me.

hahaha I WIN!!!!

the only streaming service that i could potentially see happening would be for old Virtual Console titles but even that i dont think is likely to happen.

NX being a subscription streaming service is a no buy in my and everyone else's book, if that's all it really is. Luckily, Nintendo isn't that insane. I think..

bet: lost

Maybe they could have a PS Now like streaming service in the works, that would be believable. They could milk some more money from their Wii U titles

Bit for now releases for NX, absolutely not, would be beyond stupid

I wouldn't be surprised if there's still an option to buy and own the game digitally and physically so My Nintendo would probably be useful if this is true.

No, it wouldn't. Streaming is posed as a solution to storage media. It's at odds with it. They can't live together under the same platform, especially when a program like My Nintendo is literally discouraging people from streaming games in favor of buying them.

Now for what he actually leaked.

  • He might not right so he wants us to take it with a grain of salt.
  • NX network will be powered by AMD.
  • An SCD  that will be x86 based could out 1-2 years after the NX launches.

These are nonsense or close to it.

No one has a rumor that is actually valid if they say the first bullet.

AMD has no chip contracts left on the table that would be for the NX, the ARM one is very, very likely outside of gaming and the two X86 chip wins are likely the X1.5 and the PS4Neo.

An SCD would not be based on x86 for a parent ARM device, what sort of nonsense is this? What would such a meaningless piece of hardware accomplish?

This is just not at all likely. It's possible the NX will support such a service or Nintendo is toying with the idea, but it's impossible for it to BE that service. The infrastructure for game streaming is just not there.

Agree.  And even if it were there, the cost of implementing it would be way above what Nintendo would be willing to fork over.

I find it hard to believe that the NX is just a streaming service when Nintendo has said that it is a console.

This may actually be a feature for the NX for all we know.

It would be kind of tasteless of Nintendo to have a codename based off of an existing tech product. But I'm ping ponging back and forth with the idea of a streaming device. It makes sense and it doesn't make sense. When Nintendo unveils this thing, I'll be able to sleep at night.

Edit: It's amazing to me how many people are doing speculation on NX and how often it's happening. I don't recall seeing anything like this for any console. They'd better deliver or their name be tarnished forever.
