What if we took Sega out of contention? It would be interesting to see the results.

like most here: Sega Mega Drive

Is this an attempt to collect Sega love here without explicitly mentioning Sega in the first post? :P

Just kidding, but Sega is probably the one the most people are familiar with, which leads to a ton of Sega answers. And to answer the question myself, I haven't tried any others so I don't really know.

Dreamcast!

The Philips G7000.

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

It's a close one between Sega Saturn and Sega Dreamcast, but I would probably go with the Saturn because of the Panzer Dragoon trilogy, Shining Force 3 and NiGHTS into dreams.

My man! It's a close contest, but I think I'd have to do Saturn too. Panzer Dragoon, NiGHTS, Astal, etc. So many interesting and unique game experiences you couldn't find anywhere else.

During the Saturn/Dreamcast era, Sega was probably the most innovative and daring developer the industry has ever seen and I loved every bit of it!

God, you made it too easy. Sega Genesis. Now exclude SEGA and things would be a bit different. To be original, I'd have to say the PC-Engine or Turbografx 16. It really is a little gem of a console.

Either the sega Saturn or sega dreamcast
