Lol, oh GOD no. Even if we include the absolutely terrible XIII series, FF II was also a travesty.

Xenoblade. Both of them are masterpieces in their own right.

Opinions.

Given I will give him that last generation reviewers inflated every game, however I do agree xenoblade is not flawless because of Chronicle X. Also that Final Fantasy XIII is not that great, infact the trilogy is a low point for Final Fantasy series.

Personally I can't pick any franchise, not even metroid unfortunately

Street Fighter, Metal Gear, countless more mostly from Japan

Smash bros, elder scrolls, portal/half life

I want to say Zelda, but now there's Triforce Heroes. Which is terrible, and since they were stupid enough to call it "TLoZ", it has soiled the series's clean slate.

Pretty difficult to name one series that doesn't have a single game without at least one questionable entry. That's also of reasonable age of course, I wouldn't count anything with only 3 or less games or one that only started this or last gen. So I don't know. I'm going over all my top favorite games in my head, then going over their respective series, but there's always a "oh but there's this game", so sorry Veknoid, I can't answer this.

And oh, to those that said "Zelda, but the CD-i games", you can count it, they're neither Nintendo nor Zelda games...

While some might disagree with me, I would say Final Fantasy.Sure that it has its ups and downs, but they all are at least great games.

And all visual novels made by Spike Chunsoft.Every single one is excellent.

I agree with you. Each one is great. People just shouldn't compare them to each other but instead accept them as stand-alone titles that are only connected by a few recurring elements.

FF2 is the worst in the series, period. But it is people feel it is so bad because they compare it with todays standard. And to be quite fair, the game is quite good. The only thing that ruined it was the leveling system.God, that was awful.

But overall it is a very good game.Even FF13 for all the hate it gets(and rightfully so.I consider it to be next to FF2 in terms of quality), it was still a great game.As a game, it is very good.Just as a FF game, it fails miserably to meet expectations

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.
