To be fair these are all well recieved and great games |
Okay gonna start with the one I actually take personally. You know what instead of arguing how bad CiV without expansion is, I am just gonna throw Civilization Revolution into the mix.
By the way, Civ V is one of my most played games, but before the expansion it was hollow version of the previous games. I very much dislike Mario Kart GBA, and honestly cannot truthfully comment on 10, just for sure that is the black sheep.
Hmmm honestly the only franchise I am having a bit trouble figuring out the black sheep is Grand Theft Auto.

Civ V is a solid game on its own -I wouldn't pin it as a black sheep. If you want to find a black sheep you look at the mobile ones. And Civ V was still well liked on its release. MKCC is a new (well was) MK with the original MK thrown in. I'd say its pretty solid and fun once the controls are figured out. And DQ10 is pretty well liked in Japan. A black sheep indicates it has a negative connotation surrounding it. None of these games really have a bad connotation -they may be recieved mildly but that doesn't make it a black sheep.
A black sheep would be Zelda CDi, that is a game that has a large negative connotation and is accurately a black sheep. I just dont think the examples you gave really count other than you not liking them

DQ 10 does not exist though. *poof* there goes your argument. |
You can't deny the existance of DQ 9 though!

Well 9 was the best selling DQ before 7 had its remake and did pretty good in the west, even garnering pretty good reviews for a traditional JRPG in the west

Wasn't The Sims 4 bashed by fans and critics?

But it was a boring DQ game! Probably the worst in the series (I have yet to play DQ 7 and 8).
PS: I never finished DQ9 maybe it gets better the more you play it.

It's a slow starter for sure due to it being more similar to DQ 1-3 than 4-8. The closest to a black sheep we've had for DQ is 7. Which was not well recieved by western reviewers on its release since it was a PS1 game that looked like a SNES game
