The Tegra X1 is a mobile-centric chip that is better than an XBox 360 and probably Wii U, but not by a whole lot. 500 GFLOPS is what Nvidia rates it at.
But it only consumes about 10 watts of electricty so that it can be put into tablets or microconsoles.

That sounds amazing for a handheld. Definitively good news for the Fusion idea if they want to implement it.
If the NX home console sits around the XBone levels of power and the NX handheld is slightly more powerful than the WiiU (taking the double screens into account, I think both the handheld and home consoles will keep the two screens setting), it seems plausible to see games running on both, maybe working better on the home console, bigger resolution and more fps.
After losing out on gaming contracts this generation, the Nvidia team was told to secure a console win or “go home.”
Tegra chips are everywhere in tablets, smartphones and other devices, Nvidia doesn't even need to put their chips in consoles now. So I call bullshit on this one
Not a chance in Hell.
Please excuse my bad English.
Former gaming PC: i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070
Current gaming PC: R5-7600, 32GB RAM 6000MT/s (CL30) and a RX 9060XT 16GB
Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.
LMAO
Nvidia and "loss" in the same sentence completely took away any credibility that piece had. Also secure a console win or “go home.”Those guys are overplaying the significance that console contracts have, or should I remind people which of the 2 major GPU manufacturers is the one in financial trouble? The one dying is actually the one with a bunch of those contracts.
Besides, why would they do this when their stock just reached an All-Time High.
W T F?
You use nvidia arm+nvidiagpu for your handheld?
But you use AMD x86+amdgpu for your homeconsole?
WTF is wrong with you nintendo? isnt that going to make running the same games on both a nightmare?
If this is true, nintendo dream of a unified platform is dead.

Tegra X1 uses like 20watts+ or more, when its able to do more than a Xbox360.
That 10w stuff is when its downclocked drastically and running much slower (marketing slides).
How much does current 3DS chips use? do they go 20-30watts for the intire system?
You would need a insane battery on a handheld to have a system that uses upwards of 30watts.

Shrugs, I thought 10 watts was its max power output, it rendered that Unreal 4 engine demo at 10 watts:
Here's a Tegra X1 Jetson system on chip, you can see it's tiny, it's about the size of a credit card and this one is a 10 watt SoC:

Soundwave that link you provide just takes the numbers claimed by nvidia as fact.
The truth is the tegra X1 can run locked at 10watts.
BUT (this is the important part)
those 512 GFlops (or however much they claim it is), those are when its useing over 20watts of power.
If you lock it to 10watts, its performance drops alot.
Its all just marketing.
However it would still be a huge step up in terms of performance compaired to the 3DS & even the Vita.
