Forums - Gaming - What are your thoughts on companies paying for meat bots to infest forums?

Influencer marketing is big business nowadays, to engage people to spread the message, ie create earned media.

Dunno if they bother with forum posts. Plenty of people are happy creating threads based on twitter posts already.

I personally find offense with the word meatbot. Call us guardians or sentinels.

“Simple minds have always confused great honesty with great rudeness.” - Sherlock Holmes, Elementary (2013).

"Did you guys expected some actual rational fact-based reasoning? ...you should already know I'm all about BS and fraudulence." - FunFan, VGchartz (2016)

Seriously where do I sign up. I would even represent XBox if I had to, just sign me up!

My thoughts? I wish they'd pay me for that. I'm just stuck posting here and not even getting paid

Same for me as well. Well, except for using it at work occasionally

Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

Marketing is sort of like ticks on humanity. They just suck blood and don't create anything.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

I don't really believe they do.

I think sometimes people just have a hard time accepting others may have a different opinion than them, and just ASSUME they're getting paid for it. It's kind of sad fanboy territory.

Won't be surprised if they exist, anything is possible on the internet.

who cares, for every one meat bot there is 100 anti company that meat bot represents to shut them down

You are suggesting that a single advertising shill would only create a single account or persona to push the system or brand which they are being paid for? Heck all it takes is a few D&D character sheets to keep track of some base information and to avoid using obvious official terms and you could flood a forum/message board with positive PR.

It's just myths. It's not cost effective to pay a guy to write forums posts. It happened perhaps a couple of times in history but that was in the past.

Lol, doesn't matter whats cost effective. I know someone who is paid 276 euro a day to do this by a certain company I can't mention. Its real and its effective.

Yeah right.
