I feel like you, and others, look at the "all on PC" thing with far too hardcore of a video game players mindset. The casual fan who plays an XB1, the majority of the people who play on it, are not giving even one shit about whether the games are available on PC or anywhere else. Those of us who are on the boards, sure they are losing some sales perhaps with us. The people who just walk into Target to buy themselves/their kids the latest system their friends have, nope. |
I agree with you on this, but looking at the global announcements, "Wow" factors and other megatons, this conference was lacking, almost everything was already announced last year, except for the annual Forza (Fifa-like level of surprise...), Dead Rising (not exclusive), Gwent (multiplat) and State of Decay 2. The huge announcements were the hardware ones, and I think the second one (Scorpio) was poorly handled and killed the first one (Slim). And of course leaked, but that's another issue. The major announcement is clearly the "all games are for PC too", which is cool for PC gamers. But for a E3 conference, it really lacks some impact from a games perspective.
No big E3 classic communication megaton game we'll talk about in the next few weeks/months, that's what's laking the most IMO. Not a bad conference if you take out the Scorpio segment, but no exciting segment either. I like to read mainstream newssites the day after the E3 conferences (some of the big french newssites like to speak about it), they were until now pretty disappointed about this E3, and I'm not sure this E3 conference will be better than the rest...
