This is saddening.

"On the second part of your question related to Infinite Warfare, first of all you got to love the passion of gamers. This is an industry like no other, and a fan base like no other and we love that our fans treat this franchise like it’s their own and have such strong points of view about it. There just aren’t many entertainment franchises on Earth that can generate the kind of passion that Call of Duty can and that’s a good thing."

I think I'm going to throw up from all of that spin.

A response doesn't matter, fans will buy it anyway, no matter how loud they shout. Changing old habits is hard. In fact, aren't fans shouting every time? They will still buy it and forget all their anger after a few hours.

I think we need a modifier here. First of all the "backlash" only counts for COD fans who give a shit about what people on the internet say about their favorite game, which is like 5%. And second of all, more than half of the people currently complaining about the game will buy it anyway.

The last COD wasn't even that popular and it got 7.5m on PS4 alone. That's numbers Battlefield can only dream of. I believe there is no possible way that COD will be a financial flop or that Battlefield numbers will come close to what COD will sell.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Masterful and entirely true. A good example of why that suit makes a fortune and other people don't

Nope, they know that in the end all the haters will still buy their game.

No, they won't and they won't have to, they'll still sell millions.

I hope not. IW is the most appealing COD in years.

RIP Dad 25/11/51 - 13/12/13. You will be missed but never forgotten.

lol no. They don't give a f***. They know it's going to sell regardless. Hell I think not only will they sell more units than BO 3, but they'll make more money because more people will opt for the "legacy edition" than base game for MW Remaster.

Wheres that CoD pic at with community that is suppose to be boycotting the game, but a screen capture showed them all playing it?

So appropriate here.

Its only been a few days and already the Infinite Warfare reveal trailer has been hated by every CoD fan under the sun and then some, game developers have insulted it, it has risen to the 11th most disliked youtube video of all time, and the reveal of Battlefield 1 could have just put it in the ground. The one thing, if anything, that is killing the game is Modern Warfare Remastered- fans have wanted a return to conventional war mechanics and settings based on real historical battles. he got that is the form of a remastered game that wont even include all original maps and is exclusive to those who buy the special editions of the game. Basically, the game people really want is a pre-order bonus since we all know the limited editions always fly off the shelves. now im going to stop talking abou all that because if you clicked this topic you probably knew all that already.

Point being- this is the biggest backlash Ive ever seen from gamers, but even on smaller issues, devs have responded. Its comparable to another situation from a few months back when the Fine Bros tried trademaking the term "react" on youtube. Why did they do this? they thought they could get away with it. and even now, the Fine Bros still havent recovered. this is the same situation that the Call of Duty brand is in right now. If activision doesnt respond, then fans will immediately assume they dont care about their fans and lose faith in the brand. if they do respond and say for instance MWR becomes a standalone title, they will be in better shape, but the damage will of course still remain.

so the question is- will they respond? i feel like they will but they will only try to justify MWR and keep it locked in the special editions. i will actually predict right now that anywhere from 6-12 months after release, MWR will be available as a standalone game, but hey maybe not. but i feel like they will just let things fester and not care at all for what fans are saying. but what do you guys think about the whole situation? will they respond and if so, how will they?

Yes, they'll respond by selling more than battlefield 1.

l <---- Do you mean this glitch Gribble?  If not, I'll keep looking.
