Rumors have been running rampant over the last couple of months that Crash Bandicoot will be returning to the PS4. The voice actor for the franchise’s villain may have teased that the character is coming back.

As noted by a user on NeoGAF, Neo Cortex’s voice actor Lex Lang posted on Facebook: “Wow! What a throwback Thursday! This week I have been asked to resurrect three different characters that I voiced from 3 different games gone by. A doctor, a devil and a droid/AI. Unfortunately that’s all I’m allowed to disclose at this time. Stay tuned for more details!! Very excited about those!!

Looking at Lex Lang’s part work, Neo Cortex is the only doctor that he has voiced in the past in a video game. We’re not sure what the devil and droid/AI characters will be, but he has voiced in the older Mass Effect games as well as some older Star Wars titles.

People have been longing for a return of Crash Bandicoot as it’s been a long time since the last game came out starring the popular character. The last word we’ve heard is that Activision still owns the IP, but Sony have been interested in buying him back for the PS4.

Ratchet and Clank PS4 proved to be popular and became the fastest selling one of the franchise to date. This goes to show us that platform games can still succeed so now is the best time to bring Crash Bandicoot back.

Never was hyped so much for an E3 like this year!!!

I still don't get it. Why are you hyped for this? Naughty dog ain't gonna develop it. How will this game be any different than the 360/PS3 ones? Why wasn't there hype for those? It's irrational from my pov.

The problem is Crash never successfully transitioned to full 3D. So it would largely have to be something new, rather than a rebooting of the previously loved franchise.
I'd rather Spyro was relaunched. That was full 3D and was brilliant. One of the only serious contenders for Mario there's ever been.

never understood what was so special about this game and I do remember playing some during the PS1 era... maybe it will be back, sure, seems like several people want it and good on them in that case.

Because it would be the return of the maybe most iconic PS franchise to Playstation? Because it wouldn't be one among tens of average multiplat Activision titles anymore and could go back to its Sony's mascot roots? Why wasn't there any hype about the Activision titles? Because they were sh*tty compared to the Naughty Dog games. And the Uncharted 4 "hint"  (it's even more than an hint at this point) is enough to let us dream... Ratchet and Clank is a huge success, why a new Crash couldn't be one? 

It's kinda like asking why anyone would ask for a Conker game when there wasn't any hype for Conker in Project Spark, or why ask for a new Metroid when nobody cares about Federation Force. 

Well... i hope they manage to do it justice, but when Sony couldn't replace ND for Jak (the lost frontier was appauling)... i don't know how activision will be able to ever handle Crash.

Oh well... hope something good comes out of it. But hype levels are zero for me.

You already say it in your post. "Activision's Crash games  were shitty". I am just trying to prepare you not to be disappointed in this case. Activision can't do it. Sony couldn't do Jak properly with a different team. What hope is there? Do you really want ND wasting their time on this?
