Madworld was awesome!! The Black baron was a bad motherfucker. Lol, those comedy deaths.
Last time we seen official numbers it was way overtracked. Maybe ZhugeEX can confirm.

I even bought the soundtrack, it's in the car as we speak ;)

Great news, amazing games that deserves those sales. Hopefullly this means more Bayonetta on nintendo platforms.

I would. Hell, I'd like it if Nintendo signed a multi-game deal with Platinum to add diversity in their exclusives library and create the types of games that their internal 1st party studios can't (or won't).

Nothing else seems to cause as much distress when it's suggested that it's overtracked, either. As for the rest, 300k overtracked would be pretty darn significant for a game listed at 1M sold. |
But I think 300k OT is an absolutely scenario worst-case scenario imo. That basically figures only about 300k shipped for NA and Europe apiece for a game that was universally acclaimed and that hit store shelves during a peak period for the WiiU. For a high-quality AAA title that Nintendo was more or less counting on to help turn the fortunes of the WiiU around for the time, only shipping 300k per region seems awfully, awfully gun-shy.
IMHO it's actual total initial shipped is near 800-900k that honestly appears to have sold-through really well long-term. With the recent new shipment, it's even closer to a million.
I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016
The price took a long time to drop as well, think that might be a sign it didn't do as bad as people make out.

Because of a Neogaf post? Japan tracking seems okay. Considering the excellent resale value of the Bayo 1&2 package in NA, nearly all the copies that shipped appears to have sold. 250-300K for the Americas doesn't seem unreasonable. Considering Bayonetta topped the Smash ballot in Europe, but not in NA may clue us in to the fact that it probably sold considerably better in Europe than in the Americas. We know for a fact that Bayo 2 hit 60k in France alone by end of 2014. It's probably sold another 10-20k since then. If we extrapolate the France data across the rest of Europe, It's probably at 700k WW minimum IMO. What really constitutes a 'desperate' need to adjust? Lots titles on here probably get under or overtracked by 100-300K, but none causes as much distress as Bayo 2 methinks. |
Because in Bayonetta 2's case it's not probably overtracked. We know it's overtracked. Of course many games are under and overtracked on VGC but usually they get adjusted according to the information we have. So games which we have no official or leaked numbers can't be randomly changed. But we know Bayonetta 2 is 182k as of November 28th 2015 in the US according to NPD. VGC has it at nearly 500k at the same point in time. That's 300k overtracked in a single territory or 275% lol
I'm glad Bayonetta is able to find success with the sequel and with her appearance in Smash 4, getting in from a ballot of all things, she should be more well known among the gaming community. Hopefully this will prompt another game for the series, whether it be another sequel or a spin off.
This game, along with Star Fox Zero, Guard, and Wonderful 101, help illustrate a solid relationship between Nintendo and Platinum Games. I hope the partnership continues and grows.
