Forums - Movies & TV - Captain America: Civil War – BIG RANT and many plot spoilers inside (you should save your time and money and not see it now)

Captain America was my favourite Marvel character but the movies absolutely ruined him. They turned him into such a douchebag - like when he tells Iron Man to put on the suit and to fight him. Dude, you'd be killed in 10 seconds. And he even asks what Tony Stark is without the suit. How hypocritical. Then in TWS he puts down the shield to fight Batroc like an even bigger douche to showcase his superiority instead on focusing on the job at hand.

I didn't love it either. My main problem wasn't the story per se, eventho it was stupid and full of plotholes to make Captain America look good in the end, but this new trend of filming fighting scenes with shaky AF camera shots I swear I was feeling sick and my eyes were hurtig during that first fight in Africa or wherever.

Yeah, those camera movements made me feel dizzy at some point too. Man, I miss Sam Raimi...

We could ask him what would he be without the serum...

The movie is good. Some of the OP's points are wrong. You will enjoy it Spurge.

You dont know me!!

ok, I probably will, but only because I look past story holes until after the movie.

So, seen it yet, Ryan?

I'm gonna comment on just your problem with Cap's strength. Cap can fight Spider-Man with relative ease. Both of them are low level strength characters. Parker has issues lifting certain large cars. What gives cap the edge, is the shield. And his martial arts. Plus, cap won't back down. Iron Man's suits, while it's tough, it's pretty fragile. Yeah, you see it fight toe to toe with Hulk. Those type of fights are deceiving. Even with the Hulk Buster. He has to use projectiles. And offensive tactics on him. Stark uses Hulk's dumbness to his advantage. And tries to make sure the suit does not take direct hits.

Stark's suits are pretty useless, if the character isn't dumb. I'll give this example, from the comics. Stark lied to She-Hulk, on who got rid of Hulk, in the Planet Hulk story arc. They got in a fight. Only in two pages, she was ready to kill him. His suits have no way to deal with her, period. Because Shulkie is intelligent. Trainned by Cap America. And has Hulk's power. Change one thing, He's a joke.

That's Stark's problem too. He always likes to think, since he's smart. He can be cocky, in fights. Cap knows this. And uses it.

Here's a movie example. Tony was knocked around by a few cars in IM 1. While he took no damage. His suit wasn't able to absorb the impact, all the time. Cap is stronger than a car, driving at speed. Then you throw the shield, he's fucked. If you want to argue the helicopter scene. The thing he grabbed to hold it down. Would of broke. Before Cap would of gotten tired.

In MU Cap is considered one of the best hand to hand fighters (after Shang-chi and a few others), I read a comic once where Diamondback was having a sparring match with him and she couldn't lay a hand on him. His reactions and reflexes were too much for her, who is an excellent hand to hand fighter and has the fitness of top class athlete. Only thing IM has going for him is the impact of the metal suit, the enhanced strength, he replexes and reactions would be less than Diamondback's easily.

Hmm, pie.

Yeah. That's the main drawback to IM. The suit has crap speed. Plus, Stark is not a fight master.

I'm sorry but Cap is nowhere near as strong as Spider-Man. Spider-Man is much stronger, faster, smarter and more durable. Truth is that they made Cap stronger than he should be for him to make him a match to Iron Man. Otherwise, it would game over in under 60 seconds.

I totally agree with this. The serum is supposed to give Cap the strengh of around 10 men. Spidey is strong enough to endure direct hits from Grey Hulk, and should be supposedly as strong as a spider his size, which is a lot.

I will get back to this when I open my computer. Typing on phone is awful.

I thought the movie was good and cap did try to talk to iron man but they didn't believe him. They thought he was lying because he was to obsessed with Bucky.
