I'm not even angry any more.

I'm just tired. Tired of droughts. Tired of delays. Tired of radio silence. Tired of lazy, safe, conservative games. Tired of Nintendo.

After 22 years I think it's time for a divorce.

I hope you learned your lesson. Quite a lot of people make the mistake to jump into the next marriage right away.

I'm certainly not planning to run out and buy a PS4/X1. I'm thinking about either take a break from gaming in general for a few months and see how I go, or getting back into retro gaming.

Nope, not really. Just a little disappointed I won't be playing Zelda U this year... I have pretty big backlog though so I'll be preoccupied for awhile anyways.

The only things I'm disappointed in are that they're basically writing off E3 and the holiday season. I'm hoping the eventual reveal of the NX will be like a 2-3 hour event filled with games and specs with little to no dead time followed by a couple of days of Nintendo people demoing the NX release games. Essentially, I'd like them to treat the NX reveal as if it were their own personal E3.

Well the other frustrating thing is basically the entire company has been "on hold" for the NX, it's plainly obvious now they were just going through the motions with the Wii U, so we're going to have to wait until NX to get "real" Nintendo games again, things like Mario Tennis and Amiibo Festival are just crap that they're pumping out from non-Nintendo central dev teams that aren't really being given much care at all.

Mario Maker was the last game they released that they actually gave a crap about.

So basically as Nintendo fans we're all kinda stuck in this "limbo generation" now while Nintendo is moving on to the NX. They've basically flushed the last two E3s down the toilet because of this.

That's fair enough to be honest. Nintendo's done a lot of stupid shit the last five years (well to be honest really last 20 years I guess, since the SNES its a been a bit of a long haul of dumb decisions), it's not a company for everyone. They test your patience to the nth degree and continually makes bizarre decisions constantly.

It basically just boils down to whether or not you like their games enough to put up with the headache that comes with it.

I really like some of their games, but at this point the frustration is outweighing the payoff. It's like staying in a toxic relationship just cos every few months you have amazing sex. It's just not worth it.

The weird thing is, their so-called stupid decisions don't effect everyone, including me. I didn't really care about "oh Sony's PlayStation can do FMV" or "Oh Shadow of the Colosseus and Grand Theft Auto are on the PS2" or "the GameCube looks like a lunchbox" or "the Wii U is underpowered." I just buy consoles to play games and have unique experiences. Their so-called "stupid" decisions don't resonate with me. I'm a little older than curl-6 and maybe others but I still think highly of Nintendo and they've done more good than bad throughout the years, at least in my eyes. The Wii was phenomenal, never in my life would I actually get to play video games with my family and have fun without getting into the complicated shit. The GameCube and 64 were great with friends and by myself. The DS was unique, paving the way for touch-based games to be more mainstream in mobile devices and such. Sure they're struggling now, but I think I would be foolish to disregard Nintendo after they've proven me wrong for years. Their games have evolved and the imaginations of the developers is still out there, even if it doesn't show on Wii U, at least 3DS means something.

It's just me and a random thought. There have been few instances where I was disappointed in Nintendo, even including this gen. But sometimes, things don't always go right. The light bulb wasn't created overnight and Rome and the Great Wall took forever to be built with people paying the price. It happens to the best of us, it just didn't go well for Nintendo this gen for both their consoles. Not everything was a drag though as I enjoy Awakening, Smash 4, Pokken, Pokemon Gen 6, Kid Icarus, Splatoon, Xenoblade X, etc. All I can hope for is the best and that Nintendo can find something that can create more interest than Wii U.

Again, this is just me and my random thoughts, or banter if u wanna call it that.

The problem Nintendo has is a lot of their most loyal fans have either dwindled or simply grown out of gaming. A lot of younger fans don't have the same attachment and appreciation for the brand. There is no doubt that they still make amazing 1st party games, but unfortunately they are so behind on what connects with younger people. They have the least advanced/social hardware and network, they have the most restrictive rules on streaming and making videos/content on their games. So many games today get discovered or move units due to high exposure on Youtube and Twitch. And they have pretty much no 3rd party support, often making dry spells between 1st party releases longer than anything the other console players have to deal with. They have a long way to go with today's gamer base and a lot of burnt bridges and spurned feelings in their path.

Good news is its not over, they can rebound. But this is probably their last hardware chance before likely having to just publish so the stakes are high. And not sure revealing the release window of your flagship console on the 3rd page of your financial report, not being present at the largest gaming event of the year, and missing a holiday launch window when all signs point to Sony and MS both having updated consoles by this holiday is a good showing. I mean it really either shows a sign of weakness they don't think they can rise through the noise at E3, or that there is delays in production due to last-minute changes or delays in game production which after such dry spells is probably the most concerning if their studios are not prepared at this point.

I was pretty skeptical to begin with, which really pains me as a kid who grew up on Nintendo. But they are somehow finding a way to even raise my skepticism which is never a good thing when preparing for perhaps your most crucial hardware launch in your company's history.

I wouldn't say angry. I'm just more disappointed. Currently is probably the worst times ever to be a Nintendo fan, but at least I have a backlog of about 80 games to hold me off while Nintendo is in garbage mode for a whole year, until NX releases.

It is kinda funny how Sony fans basically get everything they want ... Final Fantasy VII Remake? Yup Sony got it. Last Guardian? OK. Uncharted 4? Yup. VR? Yup we're doing it. Even doing Shenmue III. Sounds like Crash Bandicoot is coming back too.

Meanwhile at Nintendo ... lol, we're bracing ourselves for Paper Mario (the only notable Wii U only release left) to not suck like Sticker Star did because we have nothing to really look forward to for the next year now. And we just kinda got a half-assed Star Fox I guess which got force fed a bizarre control scheme no one asked for.

We get treated like shit and it's not like this hardware was cheap either. I paid $350 for the Wii U and $250 for the 3DS ... $600 ... for quite honestly pretty low powered/outdated hardware and we're all hoping and begging that the NX, coming 3+ years after the PS4 will at least match the PS4 spec.

We really do get treated like peasants.
