Forums - Nintendo - Rock Band for the Wii

It usually is, but this is one of the few cases where DLC is valid, IMO.
There would be no way to fit all the songs on the game disc, and even if there was, it'd probably make the game more expensive, and you'd end up paying more for songs you don't even care about.

With DLC, you can get exactly the songs you want, you can keep the game alive for a much longer time and you can get songs released after you buy the game, which to me is the greatest advantage.

And that's why I refuse to get the Wii version (or any other, for that matter) until they offer DLC on Wii. Specially after seeing it can really be done (see my above post).

Just go buy a PS3 or a 360.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

Just go and buy it for the Wii. ;)

Don't buy it if you don't want it. I don't really see how they could do download content very effectively, since Nintendo hasn't even done that on first-party titles yet, with the exception of Smash I believe.

No, that's the problem. I do want it, but I want the best version of it. The Wii version could have been the best version for me instead of this crap.

And I don't see how they could not do downloadable content effectively. You seem to be saying "Nintendo hasn't even done that, except for when they have done it." Regardless of that, online play has been around more than long enough.

First parties tend to implement ANY new feature on their console first,

...which they have, and third parties also have.  So what's the problem?

No, it doesn't have DLC and probably can't until Nintendo steps up and allows more storage space.

I already own a PS3. I'm not getting any version, though.

DLC doesn't really matter. This is a funny thread. Ninty-Doubters: "Oh, this will just be a port of the PS2 version so there is no DLC, sucks to be a Wii owner!" Wii Owner: "We don't mind there is no DLC, we're just happy to be getting it." Ninty-Doubters: "Uh... But there's no DLC, you're version is going to suck!" Wii Owner: "Seriously, we don't care about the DLC." Ninty-Doubters: "I don't think you understand, this is like... um... really good DLC, like the best that's ever been released for a game." Wii Owner: "No, we're fine, we're sure the next one will have it all, we understand this is just a PS2 port. You can't win em all, we're sure the Wii version will sell well enough." Ninty-Doubters: "WHY AREN'T YOU ANGRY!!! WE HAVE THE BETTER VERSION! HEY! NO ONE BUY THE WII VERSION! IT SUCKS! THE WII SUCK! BUY A PS3 OR 360!!! DON'T BUY THE WII VERSION OF THIS GAME!!!"

DLC is overrated.

World Tour is not.

If it has World Tour and create-a-character, no DLC is fine.

Aurally examine my music!

Wear gaudy colours or avoid display. It's all the same.

Be warned, I will use walls of polysyllables and complex clauses as a defence against lucid argument.

Wand to read a creepy thread?

I dont care about rock band online(because it sucks) or rock band

In a couple of months we'll hear the annoucement of rock band 2 and it will be 10 times better than the predecessor and that will be able to have full bands go head to head agianst each other rather than this one on one crap

And most likely it will be built from the ground up (at least in more a sense than Rockband 1 was) for all consoles this time instead of being made for one (360), quickly adapted to another before launch (PS3) then backwards ported to the PS2 and then to the Wii.
