It usually is, but this is one of the few cases where DLC is valid, IMO.
There would be no way to fit all the songs on the game disc, and even if there was, it'd probably make the game more expensive, and you'd end up paying more for songs you don't even care about.

With DLC, you can get exactly the songs you want, you can keep the game alive for a much longer time and you can get songs released after you buy the game, which to me is the greatest advantage.

And that's why I refuse to get the Wii version (or any other, for that matter) until they offer DLC on Wii. Specially after seeing it can really be done (see my above post).
